Just finsished training in the new Patricia Wexler MD Skincare line -- wow! She bases her formulations around MMPi's and Niacyl. For more:

http://www.patriciawexlermd.com/main/browse.do?nav_keyword=science

I tried all the products, and they do leave the skin feeling incredibly hydrated, but not greasy. The daytime moisturiser contains a small amount of argireline -- which concerns me -- I have heard bad reports of people using argireline creams and getting a saggy face. I asked the rep to find out what percentage of Argireline the product contains. The Deep Wrinkle Eye Repair also contains Gaba Forte and Argireline.

I get my starter kit in a few days -- will let you know what I think.

Does anyone else here have more info on Argireline and Gaba Forte? Are they safe?

Lili - I was in a Bath and Body Works Store the other day and they were getting ready for the Wexler launch.

Her line is intriguing and I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it. That particular Bath and Body had some other very nice lines and I browsed, and only semi-behaved myself as I'd been wanting to try some Murad products and ending up getting a couple from their Pomegrante colllection. Sigh. No control. Actually, I did score a free Goldie lipgloss - got it in Blossom - nice lipgloss!! and a free Carmel Jar Candle (they were out of Pumpkin!)

Keep us posted! Laughing

Yeah, the Bath & Bodyworks Flagship stores (about 70 across the country) have an additional "clinical room" with a large selection of great clinical/cosmeceutical skincare -- not just bubblebath & body lotion...

I'll post ingredients when I get my products!

I'm also keeping an eye on this line. She has such a great reputation and, unlike some other celebrity derms, she has really been very low key about endorsing products, let alone lending her name to one. I was also very impressed by her desire to keep the price moderate. Alot of the Dr. Brandt line, for instance, is very interesting but the guy charges a fortune !!

MelissaMarie...

According to her website and the articles I've read, the release date is Sept 19.

I'm a *beauty specialist*, got an early release, but yes, it's at all the BBW stores (not just the flagship ones), in kits like the one I scanned. In a month the full size products will be available, all really reasonably priced.

Progress report -- after one week I like it very much, I had a weird pimple that went away after one night (I think it was due to being sick with a virus). Otherwise no bad reactions in my rosacea-prone sensitive skin. When I wake up in the morning my normally dry skin is still soft -- unlike when I use oils, Creme de la Mer, rich creams,.... which my skin suck up overnight. So, points for no reactions (it's designed exactly to stop inflammatory response, whether that is rosacea, aging, or acne). No immediate results -- but I have to be fair and give it one month.

Still have a hard time giving up my DMAE/Alpha Lipoic cream -- slipped some on last night -- Dr. Wexler isn't looking...... Smile

Right now she has only one creamy cleanser -- very nice, doesn't strip.

Update: OK, so I'm as fickle as one can be with my skincare products -- too many wonderful potions out there to be totally true to one skincare line!

That said, it's been a three weeks, and I find I've pretty much abandoned the Wexler line -- I didn't like all the silicone in it, it did give me one big pimple (that went right away). After a week or so my skin started looking a little tired -- I think because I wasn't using all my usual stand-by products that are active -- DMAE/Alpha Lipoic cream, copper petides, Vitamin C (yes, 12 hours apart from the copper), homemade scrubs, etc... If she were to make a strong serum with her specific ingredients -- MMP inhibitors, niacyl, etc... -- in a silicone-free liquid serum, I would definitly keep using it. But it just feels too plastic, after layering on the serum and moisturiser.

So -- that's my update on the Patricia Wexler line.

I picked the kit up last week at B&B. One of the SA's was explaining the how-to's with at least three women who came in after reading about the launch in Self (or one of those mags.)

I actually went in to get the Fall products - Pumpkin Room Spray, handsoap, candles, but they were pretty much out of everything! Snooze you lose I guess!

I must say that I'm not loving the serum texture either. Kinda silicon-y and plastic feeling. I do like the face wash though. So far I'm not bowled over by anything else. I'll give it more time. I've run out of my O2 Rescue by PSF and must order more, as that seems to make a big difference in the health of my skin. I now wish I had re-ordered that first b/f I tried the Wexler line. Oh well, next paycheck!!!! Laughing

I did get a cool Goldie tote bag ($5 with $40 purchase of something like that) with a whole slew of trial size products in it though!! That was fun!

I bought the Wexler skin care set ($ 45.00 for 7 products, I believe) which would have been a great value if the products were right for my skin.

I explained to the salesperson that my skin is breakout prone, and wondered if the set would cause me problems. She felt they'd be fine and reassured me they take back any product you're not satisfied with, so I went ahead.

Within a few days I had broken out in so many places it was obvious the kit would be going back to Bath & Body.

I've read Wexler is coming out with more skin-type-specific products in mid-October. Not sure if I'll try them again or not. I can't understand why a dermatologist would put out a "1 kit fits all" skin care set when skins that are sensitive or prone to breakouts can't handle the silicones & oils that normal to dry skins can.

On to something else...
