This "cream" has been my surprising find of the year! I am traveling often these days and recently decided that my cosmetics take up too much room in my little bag when I travel for a few days. So, as I was frantically packing last week for another trip, I decided to go with samples of the larger items I travel with. I chanced upon a sample of this "cream" in my drawer and despite thinking that it would be too rich (which is why I have not tried it thus far), I packed it. I am *so* glad I did as my skin is absolutely loving it!
I keep saying "cream" because it's actually quite a runny lotion. This really surprised me as I opened up the sample tube and had it pour out all over my hand, but I see now (as I am getting ready to buy a full size) that it actually comes in a pump bottle. So, we're talking about a runny yellowy lotion with a nice scent that is somehow a combination of flowers and herbs (sorry, it's hard for me to put a finger on it). It leaves a dewy but not oily finish on my skin. I have to wait a few minutes before I apply my MMU but my fears of this "cream" being too rich for my normal skin were completely unfounded! Enough about what it is though, let's talk about what it did for my skin because this part is very impressive!
I actually noticed the difference in my skin after using this for 3 days, day and night. My skin is just positively glowing with this, despite lack of sleep, and I have had a few comments from people telling me that I look more rested and "healthy". I haven't changed anything else in the past week, so I have good reason to believe that this cream is the reason. It leaves my skin well moisturised with no dehydration lines despite my heavily air-conditioned surroundings (I am using a HA serum though, which I'm sure helps).
Another thing I noticed is that somehow it seems to help out the Jan Marini Bioglycolic Facial Lotion that I'm using in the evenings. I've had trouble controlling some skin congestion on the jawbone just below my ears (not sure why all of a sudden this area is a problem, it never has been before). The JM has been doing a splendid job of keeping the bumps down, but now that I am using it with the Dr H moisturising cream those bumps are actually GONE. It is possible that it took JM a while to achieve this but I have a feeling that the Dr Hauschka somehow helped here.
As with any skincare, this may not be suitable for all. However, I can highly recommend this based on my experience and shall update once I get a full size of this and use it for a little longer.
For those interested, this is my relatively simple current routine:
AM
Phytomer Phytomer Eau Marine Lotion as a face spritz
P8N8 Multi Vita gel toner
PSF HA serum
Cellcosmet Eye Cream
Dr Hauschka Moisturising Day Cream
PM
Phytomer Phytomer Eau Marine Lotion as a face spritz
P8N8 Multi Vita gel toner
JM Bioglycolic Face Lotion
Cellcosmet Eye Cream
Dr Hauschka Moisturising Day Cream
It's about to change since I'm running out of the JM, the P8N8, the Phytomer toner and of course the Dr H moisturiser. Luckily, I just received my EDS order so I have some new things to try. I am so very tempted to buy the Dr Hauschka moisturiser straight away though, but I just bought the rose (light) day cream so I suppose I should give that a go first and see which is better.... |

Thanks for the review, Mabsy! Even though I have a day cream that I love, your description of the cream makes it so tempting--must try!

Mabsy, I love this stuff -- the Dr. H folks insist that it's better for drier skin, because it doesn't provide too much moisture so it makes your skin "work" to produce it or whatever -- but I'm with you, I agree that this stuff is great for skin that doesn't want to look oily. I always found it a bit too dry for my skin, but it was nice that it never made me shiny and never aggravated my acne. Glad you've found a winner! |

I've used this too but when I have been "too dry" - in winter for example and only for a few days. At other times, it can be too much for my combo skin and I end up with breakouts. Dr. H also recommends mixing it with the oil control for combo skin but I found this to be a bit stupid, so I only use it when the temperature really drops and the wind picks up. As Mabsy said, one has to tailor to one's own skin - a valuable lesson I've learnt from EDS. |

Thanks for the review. I tried the cream before, but it seems too oily for me. |

I'm glad that this cream works for some people! It was not such a good experience for me. I don't which particular ingredient caused the little bumps around my nose that only went away when I stopped using Dr. H. It really is dismaying how a product is someone's HG and other's nightmare. I ended up having to stop all Dr. H products. |

It is good for the normal days, I mean spring and autumn, but for the winter, this one is not enough, the rose one (not the light one)will be better. I mean super winter, temperature is something lower than -10. |
