Okay, okay, I bought products from this line before I discovered (mainly) this forum and others and actually found out tons of information about skincare.

I purchased: (from SpaceNK)
- Essential Glow
- Serum Repair
- Vitamin C Powder
- Deep Exfoliating Mask

Essential Glow“This does exactly what it says only without the shimmer so often used. It includes a powerful anti-ageing peptide. Worn under a moisturiser it gives the skin a soft focus that limits the amount of make up you need to use. Perfect for very oily skin with open pores that doesn’t need a moisturiser.”

I have used this for a month now and I’m not sure if it actually does anything. It has a weird consistency and an even weirder smell. It sometimes left my skin sticky which wasn’t very nice. I didn’t use it with the Crème Vital over, maybe that is why. I have been using it as a carrier for the Vitamin C and both of them have after a month left my skin more smooth-looking. But I do use tons of products and Lord knows which ones does what anymore. But I definitely think this it isn’t worth the money as a moisturiser, it didn't convince me.

Serum Repair “Is a pre-party essential. Rich in pure micronised collagen and Hyalunronic Acid the two most powerful moisturisers in existence. Plumping the skin full of moisture to give a radiant effect instantly or at night as an intensive repair before your moisturiser.”

Again another product which I think is over-priced and doesn’t deliver. Does leave the skin feeling quite tight. It does contain Hyalunronic Acid but like all of his products you don’t know what percentage any of his actives are. It did win an skincare award recently. I didn’t particularly think it was amazing.

Vitamin C Powder “Pharmaceutical graded for the daily protection stabilised and microencapsulated into a powder cream that you puff over the skin and mix with another cream, half and half that still gives you a day cream with 50% Active Vitamin C. Higher than any other brand on the market.”

I think this is good. Although terribly over-priced now that I know the price of other products which you all rave about. And it comes in 5 test tubes which after the novelty factor wears off – it is a terrible way of actually applying the product. It comes with a stupid puff thing which is useless. I do mix the powder in with the cream but it is so fiddly measuring the right amount each time is annoying and with my unsteady hands I have spilt the product a few times! He claims 50% Vitamin C – I don’t know how accurate that can be. It seems to me like he has just repackaged L-ascorbic powder in test tubes! Over the month I do think it does make my skin look refined and clearer.

Deep Exfoliating Mask“Suitable for all types (especially Asian, Middle Eastern, Pigmented and Acne prone skin). Skin deep exfoliating prevents the epidermis becoming thicker and the pores being blocked with dead skin cells which make them look larger. It is useful for maintaining a healthy balance of dryness and oiliness in the skin. Contains a whitening tri-complex with Azelaic, Glycolic and Lactic Acid. Leaving the skin radiant.”

I am not an expert with acid-type products and even more I lack confidence in using them (they scare me). I do however want to enjoy the benefits of using them. Again I have no idea the percentage of acids in this mask. Nor do I know how other acid masks affect your skin. But I think that this is one of the best masks I’ve used and it does contain a whammy of different acids. I used it longer than the 5/10mins on the box without any irritation. I used it over the course of a month (quite a bit) and my skin seemed more refined, clearer, and brighter and the colour was all even and radiant – darker patches diminished. Not only once I had washed it off but it had a cumulative effect each time I used it. I also found that my skin completely regulated itself, and was no longer too oily or too dry etc and had a uniform colour, texture etc

I now realise that these products are over-priced and there are other alternatives on the market which do the same or better for cheaper. I did find one good product from this range which is the Deep Exfoliating Mask which allows me to use an acid type product without going for the ‘proper’ stuff which I don’t want to try yet until I understand more about what is out there. I would like to know how much concentration of acid is in it though. I think I would definitely buy the mask again (unless anyone knows any alternatives). But the other products most certainly not.

Thank you for the reviews Smile I am quite intrigued at the 50% vitamin C product. I thought that highest was around 30%... Did this sting?

I enjoyed reading your reviews, I often go into Space NK to purchase Dr Hauschka and have browsed other products but never bought any.
The Essential Glow has caught my eye before I have to admit Wink

Mabsy - The Vitamin C did sting a little, but that was because I use it shortly after I shave in the morning. But I really like his Vitamin C Powder. It really has worked quite a wonder. I don't think I can pay that price for it again though. And I am not the biggest fan of the test tubes even though they look nice. I don't know about the validity of the 50% claim but that's what it says on the website. I haven't tried other Vit C so have no idea of their effectiveness.

I don't think I would buy the Essential Glow to use as a sole product, but if I was to buy the Vitamin C Powder those two go together really great. I think with his products, they are all made to work together, and I found that the results are magnified when you use a lot of the line but lack such oomph when used singly.

Considering that his products are so expensive, I think that they should do even more in themselves as individual products rather than having to be used with other products from the range.

Rosebud - I do love SpaceNK. Are you in London? They have a re-launch of their Soho store today on Berwick Street. I might go. There is a free goody-bag for those who come.

Thank you Smile You could always just get the vit C crystals yourself and mix them in with something (as long as you knew what you were doing I guess). I'm too lazy so I'll stick with buying but I thikn 20% will do me for now Smile

I tried the "For Your Eyes Only" kit, which also contained the vit c powder. That applicator puff thing was absolutely useless, I agree.

Wasn't terribly impressed with the kit at all, as it did nothing for my dark circles. I think it did reduce the puffiness a little, but certainly wasn't worth the scary price tag.

BTW I really love Space NK, too! Very Happy

I agree Majorb there are not many nice places to get good quality skincare in London (as a lot is commercial rubbish) but SpaceNK do have quality products and I have actually found them to be cheaper than a lot of department stores (although not as cheap as EDS!!!)

I do agree with your comments and think that Dr is simply using his name, admittedly his products do work and it is obvious he wants people to use the whole range because that is when you get perfect results. But I think for the amount you are paying each product should be perfection in itself and be worth the price. Instead each product is mediocre which isn't good enough. With the exception of the Deep Exfoliating Mask which I do love.

You had any great finds in SpaceNK?

That's where I discovered some of my favourite products, like Stila Cosmetics, Philosophy Skincare (particularly Hope in a Jar Eye Cream and When Hope is Not Enough Moisturiser), Era by Classified Spray Foundation, and the marvellous (but, unfortunately, ridiculously expensive) Chantecaille Skincare range. Chantecaille's Bio-Dynamic Lifting Cream is an absolute dream - pity about the £240 price tag, though. Shock

Don't know whether you're into scents and candles, but the Diptyque stuff they stock is absolutely amazing. Just try sniffing the Figuier, Baies and Tubereuse candles and I can virtually guarantee you'll want to buy one. Very Happy
