OKAY. I have asked advice about this peeling business on a couple of threads...thanks to everybody who has helped me out here!!!
I am just about to order some 30% or 40 % glycolic acid, but I have one last question:
On naturalskinshop.com they sell a peel package with salicylic acid and glycolic acid, claiming that glycolic works better after first applying salicylic acid. I do have oily skin - and salicylic acid is apparantly good for oily skin. Does anybody have experience with doing the salicylic/glycolic combo? Could salicylic be better on its own than glycolic for some people?
(oops...I actually have one more question)
The peel packages on the naturalskinshop website only come in 20% and 40% - I wanted 30% (which I think is the strength I have used before at at an esthiticians office). I am worried because I heard that pigmentation can become worse if glycolic is misued - and that is one of the things I am trying to improve. |

This is called a bi phasic peel. I used to use this peel all the time before I went back on my retin a. |

Hi Lela,
I think I looked at this site before, but found that the pH of their peels was a little high for good results. You might want to check that before you purchase from them. As well, platinumskincare.com has information on the bi-phasic peel. I did try it once, but peeled too much for what I was looking for. |

Thanks ladies for clarifying things!
Faith, you mentioned that you use CPs and Emu Oil after a peel? Do you put these one on top of the other?
Would CPs and Emu Oil be too much for oily skin?
I remember reading somewhere that CPs don't react well with glycolic...and I use the Active Serum (glycolic) nightly. Would it be okay to use the CPs after a peel and the Active Serum the following night?
Has anybody tried the Hydraluronic moisturizer? Is that an alternative of something to put on after a peel?
I am still trying to make a decision on what to order for my peel. I am sick at home so I have all the time in the world to make my decision! |

Sometimes, I put on the CPs, wait about 20 minutes and then the Emu Oil...and sometimes, I just mix 4 drops of CPs with 2 drops of Emu Oil in my hand, and apply the mixture. That is enough for my face and neck and hands. It soaks in fast, but my skin is not oily, so I don't know for sure. Oil isn't always a bad thing though.
CPs and AHAs/BHAs can be used together, but you need to wait at least 30 minutes. I always try to wait about an hour. HTH |
