Has anyone tried bare escentuals makeup. I'm thinking of ordering it. Is it easy to apply? I don't even know what shade to get. I am fair skinned. Should I get the light shade or medium shade. I don't even know how to apply it (what goes on first, etc.). I never tried mineral makeup before but I've seen the infomercials about it and I'm interested in trying it. |

I've been using the Bare Minerals makeup for about two years and I LOVE IT!!! I'll never use wet foundation again.
It is easy to apply but it takes a few times to get used to it.
My skin is a little on the oily side and this makeup really helps to control the oil.
If your skin is on the dry side you may not like it. My mom didn't like the feeling of it on her face. But I love it. You don't feel like you have anything on at all. The coverage is great too. I have blemished skin but people always tell me how great my skin looks.
I'm fortunate to have a Bare Escentuals store near me and I went in and had them do my makeup and show me what to do and what to buy. They do sell this makeup at a lot of beauty supply stores. You can at least go in and see it to match the right foundation color. Also Sephora now sells it in their stores. They're pretty good about helping you with colors. B.M. also has starter kits with product and videos to show you what to do.
Good Luck!!! |

I highly recomend the Jane Iredale Handi brush for using with any mineral make-up powders (both pressed and loose). Whilst mineral make-up did not work for me, I still use my Handi all the time.
The brush hairs are so soft and pick up just the right amount of powder. |

I have been using be for about 6 months now and I really love it. It is my everyday makeup but I still use a liquid foundation when if I go out at night. I used MAC foundation NW20 and I use fairly light BE. The light is very yellow. If you do decided to go with BE I recommend the kits...that way you get the brushes with them...they really are the key to application. And it does take a while to get used to so dont get discouraged. Think...less is more. Good luck! Aromaleigh.com is a great mineral makeup as well...you can order really cheap samples. |

Love it, love it, love it!! Start with a kit. All the colors are matched. 3 products, and I'm out the door. Not being "wash N wear" anymore this line has made getting ready a breeze. They all last a long time, a little goes a long way. The kabuki brush is a must have!! I actually have 2. One for my winter color the other for my summer. You won't be disappointed!! And if for some strange reason you don't like it, email me, I'll buy it off you!! |

I love BE. I've been using it for almost 2 years, but I don't like their brushes at all. they are too rough. I use Mac brush for applying it. I also LOVE to use Smashbox photofinish under it. My makeup looks soooo much better if I apply photofinish. I used to not like how BE made my pores look a bit enlarged but ever since I use the primer, I don't have that problem any more. |

I love this stuff, I've been using this for about a year and will never use liquid foundation again. If you are near a Sephora or Ulta store they also carry Bare Minerals. I would try to get an in store match versus trial and error with a kit bought blindly. Plus, in a store you have the benefit of someone showing you how to apply it correctly.
The kits ~once you get color matched~ are great. When I started I bought a kit with mineral veil, brushes, warmth, 2 shades of foundation, a cd that reinforced application techniques. |
