Woot!! I just bought one today, and can't wait until it arrives!
Kassy's great LED results pushed me over the edge, and now that my sacred Botox may be killing my brain cells, it's time to look at other options.
I guess I need to take some before pics... |

Thanks Bethany,
We always like to see the before and afters! Hope your LED works as good as Kassy did for her. She has had amazing results with her AA LightStim |

Sister Sweets - Kassy's results were exactly why I coughed up the money! If I can get results on my neck like she did, it will be worth every penny!!
Sherry - Mine was $325...I put the specs from the manufacturer's website below.
I know not everyone is into the technical details, but I was looking for the strongest power, the shortest treatment time, and a $300-$500 price point (which meant no Quasar SP, sigh). I picked this one because of the 5 wavelengths and the short treatment time per area (60 secs).
This my first LED tool, and I bought it to help with:
- hyperpigmentation
- fine lines
- redness
- skin texture
- reduce remaining post-surgery inflammation (my nose was rebuilt with cartiledge from behind my ear in July '07, and is still very swollen)
SPECS:
- 36 Super Luminous LED Diodes for maximum results-if you can look straight into an LED device, then the LEDs are weak and not effective which means no results-you are wasting your time and money.
- 5 Multiple Wavelengths, Amber, Dual Red and Dual Infrared Technology all in one device--no other anti-aging LED Light Therapy device on the market can compare.
- One device that has it all.....wavelengths from the 590nm to the 880nm.
- Large treatment area.
- 1 year warranty on the entire device-no limited or partial warranties.
- The most powerful LED Light Therapy for spa or home use- takes only a 60 second treatment spot.
- Easy to operate, portable- no clummsy settings or buttons.
- Made in the USA-we provide outstanding customer support.
- 12V Power supply/UL Approved-no batteries to wear down or have to change
- Eye protection goggles.
- Made of durable, high quality medical grade materials and components.
- A detailed instruction manual that covers special LED Light Therapy application techniques and secrets, that only professionals know for beautiful, healthy, glowing skin.
- Phone consultation to discuss your skin's needs, product and treatment recommendation with an aesthetic expert with over 25 years experience in the dermatology/plastic surgery/aesthestic industries. |

I forgot to mention that I did my "phone interview" yesterday...it was very extensive, and Rita shared a number of tips to help me with inflammation (I have fibromyalgia), fatigue, etc.
I will be getting the recommended skin care program and the LED later this week.
Editing to add: The skin care expert (Rita) advised that I not do LED treatments more than 3x a week...she believes that the skin needs down time between treatments. |

Hi Bethany,
It will be so interesting to see if the ProLight helps with your Fibro pain. I have similar health problems and the thought of less pain would be so wonderful.

Skin Care Addict, I actually have more fatigue than pain, which in some respects makes me very lucky....my sister has the extreme pain, and she can't function without her tens unit.
However, the Fibro has caused me to heal VERY slowly after my nose surgery and I still have extensive swelling. Rita said the LED would definitely help me to heal, and I really have my fingers crossed for that...it would be nice to not have a bulb of swelling on the end of my nose anymore!
BTW, if you have not read "From Fatigued to Fantastic," by Joseph Teitelbaum, you really should. (no, I am not married to him, and will not benefit in any way if you buy the book, lol). It is a fabulous book, and the specialist I see (who treats me over the phone) follows that protocol. It got me out of bed after taking a year off from work, and is really my bible as far as supplements that help with pain, fatigue, etc. This book is a MUST READ for anyone with Fibro.
Feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions on Fibro, and I can look up the answers in my book for you. |

Linda, he has a 3rd version out that is even better, and really stresses the addition of Ribose...I bought some, but haven't tried it yet.
And if you haven't signed up for his newsletter yet, don't...it turned out to be an ongoing sales pitch for his Fibro & Fatigue centers. Meh... |

Bethany,
I'm not seeing the price you quoted to Sherry. Have I gone to the wrong website? |

Hi Bethany! I think that you will really like your prolight platinum. About three weeks ago I purchased both the prolight red and amber units and I really love them. Rita recommended the platinum device for my needs and I only went with the separate units because I lusted after them. At any rate I am loving the short treatment time and the results have been fantastic. I dermaroll under my eyes and these LEDs have really sped up the healing time for me. Rita was great with the phone consult, she also provided me with a written treatment plan... and any questions that I have emailed her with have been answered within hours!!! |

lilredhead,
Could you tell me what positives you're seeing with this unit, beyond the help with the roller?
TIA |

BluesHeart... I have only had these units for three weeks but I used the DPL unit for over a year. I really don't think I've used the prolights long enough yet to realize their full potential. I use them only twice a week with a treatment time of about 15 minutes. I was using the DPL unit daily for 18 minutes. So the prolight is saving me an enormous amount of time. Results I've had from LED in general have been better color, diminishing of fine lines (but I dermaroll as well) reduction of freckling. Since I started the prolight as opposed to the DPL I've noticed much more improvement in tone and color (no need for makeup base ) and of course the dermaroller healing time being faster. I'm tickled for only three weeks twice a week!!! As time goes by I'll keep you posted on my results... but it's pretty early in the game, yet!! |

Hi Bethany! I think that you will really like your prolight platinum. |
Thanks...I sure am hoping so!! I am taking my before pictures tomorrow so that I can concretely see if there is a difference.
I have seen more hyperpigmentation results from my copper peptides, than a year on Tri-Luma and 4 Fraxel treatments...I am hoping that an LED will increase those results and get kick those spots/freckles right off my face!
But the proof is in the pics, and I am going to reserve judgement until I see the results. |

Lil, can you tell why you lusted over having 2 separate units instead of one combined? It obviously doubles your treatment time (over havin just one Pro unit, though I am not sure it doubles it as compared to the Platinum, since the Platinum usage time is longer that then Pro. Are they that much stronger?
Thanks!! |

Prolight Red or Amber generates the same jouls as Prolight Platinum. And all 3 has 36 LEDs each. I don't know the distributions of the Red but it includes 2 Red wavelengths and 2 Infrared (my guess is 18 & 18 ). Amber is only Amber. Platinum has all 5 wavelengths, 12 Red (2 wavelengths), 12 Infrared (2 wavelengths), and 12 Amber (1 wavelength). Rita told me for professionals they use Red & Amber at the same time on client's face. Red on one side, Amber on the other side and switch. Cut the treatment time in half.
Hope this make sense. |

I liked the idea of having the 2 separate units in order to manage pain and wound healing issues. I have a passion for animals and my son's kitty has food allergies. He gets sores and the red unit heals them fast. I also have a 3 legged dog who still enjoys walking for MILES and this helps her along with massage. I think that the platinum unit is probably just as good for our skin care needs, though. My 2 lights are very bright and get pretty hot. I'll be interested to hear if the platinum does, too. |

BluesHeart, I guess that my caution is due to the fact that although I am definitely seeing results, the LED is not the only treatment I'm using to achieve them. I read alot of raves on this board as well as others where people will say for example " I use devices x, y and z in order to address my skin care issues and I swear that x is making a huge difference!!!"
Well I don't see how you can accurately boast about x when you're using y and z as well!!!! How do you know it wasn't y or z that made the difference? Or perhaps you've found a synergy and if you remove z then x and y don't perform as well. You get the gist. I don't feel comfortable raving about my results with any of the more expensive devices without having used them for a fairly long period of time ON THEIR OWN! |

My Prolight Platinum gets pretty hot. By the end of my treatment when I use it on my chin I had to hold it 1 cm away from my chin or it gets very hot. Now I use it on my cheek bones, and chin first and then the "flat" areas later. The heat it generates is more than Quasar SP and Original Lightstim. |
