I'm gonna have to throw my complete support behind the Caudalie lip conditioner. A few super-cool ladies at Sephora turned me onto it fairly recently, and I lovelovelove it!! I discarded my Burt's and Rose Salve after just a day. Not only does it have grape seed that's a wonderful antioxidant as well as other moisturizing ingredients, but it also has titanium dioxide which was the deciding factor between my trying this or the Dr. H one.
I have uber dry lips that get very uncomfortable a lot, especially after some Vitamin A treatments that I've done, and this is the best for me so far. The main reason I wanted to stop Burt's is that there seemed to be a rebounding effect after the moisturizing that made my lips even drier until I reapplied more. :/ |

Caudalie hey? I so DON'T need any more lip balms, the way I'm going my grandchildren will be inheriting mine!
BUT, seeing Simplicity's post I don't feel all that bad all of a sudden. *adds Caudalie to "need" list* |

Based on rave reviews over at MUA, I just purchased Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment (no, it's not marketed as a lip product, per se and you'll find it in the lotion aisle at most drugstores or supermarkets) and this stuff is awesome. Before bed, I slather on a layer of the Aquaphor then "smush" in some regular granulated sugar to make myself a lip scrub (brushing w/ a soft toothbrush would probably work just as well and be less messy!). Then, right before going to sleep, I put on a thin layer of Aquaphor and when I wake up in the morning, my lips STILL feel hydrated and I've never had that experience before, not even with the amazing lip balm that's part of the (overpriced b/c you can't buy the pieces separately) Benefit Dr. Feelgood Lipscription kit or with the DDF Glossy Lip Therapy, which were the two products (I layered them at night to get maximum effects) I'd used before stumbling onto the Aquaphor. The Aquaphor ointment isn't "glamourous" but it surely does the job -- but don't just take my word, go check out the other glowing reviews on MUA from satisfied users!! |
