Again, I note that I wanted to try this line so badly I PURCHASED a Cellcosmet trial kit here in Japan. I paid 4,000 yen (about CA$32) and got a pot of Ultra Vital, pot of Eye Cream and 1 vial of the Elasto-Collagen.
For my review of the Elasto-Collagen I have also pasted in my "first impression" and "one-week update" from my original thread "Cellcosmet excitement!! yipee!!" (http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=3367)
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Elasto-collagen: I always figured I would NEVER buy this as it is so expensive, BUT, judging by how much I used after 3 uses I think one vial will last 7-14 days (depending on how much of your face you use it on) I am doing basically everywhere except my t-zone. So, CA$230 (here on EDS) for 12 vials is not as bad as it sounds - espcially when they say after initial treatment just use morning and night 3 times a week.
ONE WEEK UPDATE:
Elasto-Collagen: I still have a couple days worth left in the vial. I really dont think that one vial of this product is enough to get "results" - actually, if you consider it takes a month for skin to renew itself, a week or two is not enough of a trial for any product - BUT that said, after trying this I think I will buy the 12 vial set and try it for the 3 months.
The liquid has no smell and instantly absorbs with no residue at all. I have been using on my neck, jawline/cheeks, and eyes.
FINAL DECISION:
In the end I got almost 2 weeks out of my vial. Obviously this is not long enough to judge whether the elastin and collagen had any real effect on my face, particulary as I am 38 and no serious signs of aging other than a few problems around my eyes and on my neck. Here are what I felt were the positives and negatives of the product.
Postives: no smell, no stickiness; sunk into the skin quickly; came in a little glass vial with a screw top plastic lid (very easy to use)
Negatives: I got a bit tired of tapping out drops of the fluid from the glass vials. (although, I was trying to be careful not to tap out too much as I wanted my one vial to last as long as possible. ); I would say the price is also a bit of a negative (CA$182 on EDS), but in fairness, with one ampule lasting 1-2 weeks (depending on how much of your face you use them on), the 12 ampule-box would give you 3-6 months of use. Morevoer, after the first "treatment" they recommend the maintenance of just a couple times a week, so one box would last even longer.
I would definately consider purchasing a full pack of these to try for the long term as a preventative measure mostly, but I think I will probably try the JB ADCE & prep first as it sounds easier to use (no tapping) and has other ingredients beside the elastin and collagen. If I don't get "sold" on that product or don't like the texture of it, then I will turn to the Elasto-Collagen vials.
I still have the Cellcosmet Ultra Cell on my "must try" list too. When the $$ are free I will try it - hopefully towards the end of winter when my skin will need a little "boost". |
