I'd been looking for a new natural shampoo--something that didn't contained sodium lauryl sulfates or parabens--around the time that Dr. Hauschka introduced its new range of shampoos and conditioner. I opted to try the Apricot and Sea Buckthorn, which is formulated for dry/damaged hair and have been quite pleased with the results all around. The dry winter weather has been tough on my hair, and I think this shampoo has helped to keep split ends to a minimum and to make my hair look more lustrous.

Unlike some other natural shampoos I've tried, this one is not at all stripping. My hair feels clean after I've used it, but it doesn't feel as though all of the natual oils have been removed. And the scent is quite pleasant--a very subtle hint of apricot. The only drawback, one that doesn't bother me but might disappoint others, is that it doesn't produce lots of lather, presumably because of the absence of foaming agents.

For label readers like myself, the ingredients are as follow: Aqua, Decyl Glucoside, Betaine, Sorbitol, Sodium Coco-Glucoside Tartrate, Equisetum Arvense, Melia Azadirachta, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Myristoyl Glutamate, Trigonella Foenum Graecum, Alcohol, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Prunus Armeniaca, Hippophae Rhamnoides, Arctium Lappa, Rosa Canina, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Milk Protein, Parfum, Limonene*, Linalool*, Chondrus Crispus, Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba, Xanthan Gum, Buxus Chinensis, Capsicum Annuum, Arachis Hypogaea.

I'm planning to try the Dr. H Jojoba and Mallow conditioner next, and I'm hoping to get even better results with the two products combined.

I'm using Apricot & Sea Bucktorn Shampoo and Jojoba & Marsh Mallow Conditioner. I love both of them. The shampoo doesn't create lots of foam but still cleanses thoroughly. The conditioner leaves my hair soft and smooth. Love the scent too.
