This stuff rocks! I did a home TCA peel and used this after 5 days and "oh my" i was just amazed how well this worked at balling up my dead skin and revealing the new skin.
THIS IS WHAT SKIN MEDICA HAS TO SAY ABOUT IT AND I AGREE 100%
A gentle exfoliant for all skin types. Pressure sensitive waxes lift and remove dead cells, flakes and surface debris from the skin. Leaves an ultra smooth surface and prepares the skin for cosmeceutical therapies.
Useage:
Apply a small amount on dry skin and begin to rub gently in an up-and-down motion until there is a balling-up of the exfoliant on the skin. Continue rolling the exfoliant across the skin to completely remove the dead skin layer.
Ingredients:
Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Paraffin Wax, Propylene Glycol, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Ceresin Wax, Ozokerite Wax, Disodium EDTA.
I LOVE, LOVE THIS STUFF - I WISH I HAD A BUCKET OF IT TO USE IT ON MY ENTIRE BODY.

The "balling-up" you are experiencing in not your dead skin it's the product.
I too thought the first time I used a gommage that it was my skin that was being sloughed off but in fact it is all product.
Glad it is working for you! |

Ha Mishie....you are right about the balling up of product - but "along" with dead skin, as it certainly took all my flakies off from my peel. It was like my dead skin was lifted off to reveal the newer and smoother skin. I just love it. |

This is - literally spoken - a mini review of SkinMedica Exfoliant, as I threw it in the bin after two uses.
I was excited to try a dry exfoliant for the first time. I put a small amount on my face, and started to rub, like directed. Well, the product didn't ball up. The paraffin like cream was stuck on my skin. I had to use PSF microdermabrasion on top to get it off.
One week ago I decided to give it another chance. Same thing happened. No way the product would ball up. I had to stretch and drag the skin to the extent that it would harm the skin. Finally I had to use a wet scrub to get it off.
This was an expensive experiment. It cost me about $60. It was no way I would give this away to one of my friends. I threw it away. |

I am not sure about this product, I prefer to use dermalogica's microfolient. It melts the dead skin away |

It sounds like the Yonka Gommage. I really liked that product. I wonder how the two compare? |

There is an Aloette exfoliant in Green colour that sounds very similar.
There is no granules in that product.
I applied the "gel" on the skin, wait for 1 min then rub off.
It feels as tough what's being rubbed off it's just the product, not dead skin (what comes off it's like rubber shreds from erasers).
So I used the product for the second and third time straight away. Each subsequent peel gave less "shreds". Could this mean that the product is really just pulling away the dead skin cells? |
