I bought a new JI pressed compact the other day at a local dayspa and it was over $50! I hadn't remembered it costing that much.

Considering that price, I'll probably go back to Bare Minerals, since I really don't find the JI to be THAT much better. It's nice to have a compact that you can carry with you and touch up, so I may just use my JI for that and use the BE when I'm doing my makeup at home.

Anyone else paying that much for the JI pressed powder, or am I getting ripped off? I really hadn't bothered to price shop until I got so shocked.

Hi Judy, Nice to have you back!

Right now you can buy JI loose or pressed powder at skin-etc.com for $31.98. It doesn't actually show for that price, but when you add it to your cart you get the discount. It's regularly $48 there. I think they only ship JI to the US though. I've ordered from them several times and the CS is great. Products arrive fast too! Also with every order you can choose from some pretty nice samples of various skin care.

I received my skin-etc shimpment today to Canada. They sort of elude to the fact that they won't ship JI stuff outside the States but they totally do.

Mute point though since Judy is in the States. I agree, the cs is wondeful, the samples were great, you get to chose 5 when you order. Lianne, also in Canada turned me onto them, also carekate was really helpful, thanks ladies! Smile

I don't understand why they don't state their discounts right on the product page either, every item I've ordered (all JI) has been discounted.

They always send me my JI orders and I'm in Canada! Maybe it's to deter people, but they just don't want to take the time to cancel orders or whatnot.

I also like that I can pick my samples from them. Judy, they're in grapevine, tx. If that's close maybe you can even save the $5 shipping or however much it is in USA

Thanks so much for that info girls! I will definitely check it out next time I need to order.

On shipping to Canada, my guess is that, like with many companies, Canada is included even when they say they ship only to the U.S. Might be a different situation for other parts of the world.

Unfortunately Grapevine isn't close enough for me to avoid shipping charges, but even with the shipping charges, the price will be less than I paid locally.

I live in sort of a resort area off the lake and because we have restricted availability (not in the city) and the resort aspect, I suspect they charge us way more than they should.

Woa! Shock You paid HOW much!!?? I pay under Au$50 for mine on EDS! That would make it about US$34-35. I wouldn't give up on the JI - just find an alternative source. I'm still kicking myself for not trying the JI pressed base earlier - I'm loving it!

I have just begun to use this product, and I would have paid $100 for this powder! It is absolutely fantastic. I have rosacea and this is the only product I have tried that takes away that red faced look, I am so pleased. I have tried literally every foundation on the market and paid much more than the price offered her for this one. This is a keeper girls.

I used the Bare Escentuals and although it been three weeks, I'm still finding it hard not to look over made. Practice makes perfect.
Ive looked at the JI products but there is so many colour choices it just freaks me out Confused

cindi, have you tried a spritz after!? It will help with setting the minerals and making it a bit more blended. JI balance and D20 are good. You could probably use the evian ones from the grocery store too!

Yes, I have the D20. It's not so much that I don't like the way the JI looks, I just didn't remember it costing me that much the last time I bought it. Actually, though, I prefer the way the BE looks to the JI. In fact, I sometimes use the mineral veil from BE over JI to get a softer look.

The JI covers well, but I seem to get more of a soft sheen that's more natural looking with the BE. The JI almost seems to cover too much, so that it doesn't look as natural.

That's just me and it may look perfect on someone else.

Judy, I'm the same way. I find the shimmer gives the BE a more natural finish, go figure. Smile

Cindi, I was sort of fighting with my BE foundation too and I've switched to a lighter shade recently and look way better. I don't look made up so much since I switched. Maybe your shade is too dark?

I think Lolli made an excellent point - the shade you use can make a tremendous difference (weird, cos they are very forgiving Confused ). Anyway, when I use fairly light 1.2 I look natural, and light 2 makes me look more made up but I like it better cos I look more *alive* Laughing

Which shade have you got Cindi?

Wow, now I am feeling like I got a steal! I ordered the JI pressed powder, a handi brush, and a blush off of ebay and got the whole kit & caboodle for about $75 (including shipping)! Very Happy This is my first foray into mineral makeup, and I am LOVING it. It looks very natural (I wear Bisque), and it's a breeze to put on. Definitely a permanent switch, I think!
