This is the first time I use the new version of Jurlique silk dust. I am not sure but I think the formula of the new one is changed (not only the packaging), as I've used the old silk dust for about two years, the texture seems different-the new one is nicer.

I am really happy to it which gives fresh, cool and moist feeling ( I apply it with my brush). And it is long-lasting, my face looks silky and not oily at all after whole day work (in office). Smile

I used the old lavender one and liked it very much, but I haven't wanted to spring for the cost recently.

Do you use under or over your makeup? I was concerned about getting a white cast if I used it over my mineral makeup foundation.

I am not recommending the product. After two weeks does not contain the oil on my face. Back to simple oil blotters.

I have this product and I love it, especially the smell, goes on smooth and doesn't show the hairs on my face!

I used the lavender silk dust. I loved it, but not the price. I used it under my MMU as a first layer. It went on really smooth and my skin looked great. I tend to have dry skin.

I think, now, they are for different skin types. I believe the lavender is for dry; not sure about the other 2.

When I ordered my lavender one a while back; the choice was between lavender or rose -- I preferred the scent of lavender over rose, however I also have dry skin so it just worked out that way.

My son ,now 14, has such oily skin, his nose is shiny within an hour or so of washing, I'm not sure what to advise him, as obviously he doesnt wear make up!

Would this be a suitable product for him, do you think?

Is it invisible, and does it prevent breakouts by absorbing all that oil?!

catski, have you thought about trying a drugstore brand powder for oil absorption for him? Just suggesting this route to possibly find an inexpensive option for him to experiment with before plunking down $ on higher-end products.

That being said, I've been really pleased with BE Mineral Veil for oil absorption. I use it under my MMU and over it later in the day if I have shine develop.

mm, no, I havent thought of that, it was only this thread that made me think of this at all, but excellent suggestion marci, I will go and investigate on his behalf. Thankyou!

catski, Lumiere sells Pearl and Silk powders both of which seem to do a good job of self-adjusting while remaining unscented, fairly innocent and good for the skin....

I had the rose silk dust last year. I really like it but found it's a bit dry so I only used it in summer. Would like to know how the new version is.

My older lavender one was a silky whitish powder. I put it on underneath my tinted MMU, and no white cast showed through. I did not try it as a finishing powder, so I don't know how it would work on top of regular foundation or MMU.

marci65...you mentioned the "older" lavender was a whitish powder....so is the newer version same whitish color or a different color? Or you have not used yet?

I have not used it yet, but I think it's still a white powder. I'm sure someone with the newer version will answer soon. Also, I don't know that they changed the formula of the lavender; I just know the packaging changed and they rolled rolled out the citrus version.

I have the citrus one and while the product itself is really nice, the packaging sucks!

It spills easily and I haven't found a replacement puff that is fluffy enough to keep the powder from going all over.

But, back to the original statement, the powder itself works really well, (as refined and mattifying as the HD and Blu-Ray ones,) and smells very pretty... just plan on transferring it to a different carrying case, if you plan on taking it with you.
