I recently purchased the Guinot Lait de Confort bodylotion via the internet (such an alluring name!), and only today received it. And the result? There's no way, I repeat, NO WAY! I will ever wear that bodylotion, because it stinks. How can I describe the smell? Somehow, I think it smells like an old lady's unopened underwear drawer, where she has kept a bar of soap to keep the undies fresh.
OK, so I'm quite scent-sitive, but this is definitely the worst no-no that I've come across...Think I'll stick to the local shops from now on, or buy only things I already know.
Such a waste of money! Now I STILL need a new bodylotion... |

Oh no, that is just awful! Maybe you could give it to someone you really don't like for Christmas?
As for a new body lotion, I just love the Philosophy ones mmmm... [But as it's you, I'd recommend you smell them first ] |

It comes in handy as a birthday present Not to a person I don't like, but to someone who actually thinks EA Eight Hour Cream smells good
Personally, I think I'll either go for my old favourite Biotherm, or stick to foolproof (and cheap!) L'Oreal Nutrilift. |

Nemi: In my opinion L'occitane has the best body lotions and creams. I mainly use the lait (milk) body lotion with shea butter or the lait body cream with shea butter. It just depends on how much moisurizing that I need or feel like. These are the ones that I find most moisturizing in general and they have a slight but pleasant smell to me anyway. L'occitane also makes body lotion or body milk products in several of their other scents, but these don't ususally have the shea butter in them. Still very nice though. I have tried the almond and the lavender and like them both as well.
I have hooked various family and inlaws on these products which makes it easier on me at Christmas time. If you live near a shop where there is a store, I would really recommend going in, testing the scents and feel of the products and decide it any are for you. Scents are so personal and individual so it is hard to predict what you might like. If you don't have a store near you, I think that the Lait body lotion and lait body cream would be safe bets since the scents are very mild. The body cream is much thicker and comes in a jar, and the lotion is lighter but still nicely moisturzing. Of course sometimes it is nice to have a bit of a change. I used the almond body milk tonight after the almond shower gel now smell faintly almondy as I get ready to head to bed. Lavender can go either way with me. Some laverder products have that green undertone in its fragrance, and I don't care for it. Herby Green is the best description that I can think of, and some of the L'occitane products do have that. Some people really like it I suppose, but I am not one of them. However the L'occitane lavender body milk and hand lotion don't have that undertone, to me at least, and just leaves more of a straight lavender scent, if that makes any sense.
If you are still on the lookout for a body moisurizing lotion, I think the Lait body lotion with shea butter would be a good product to try. |
