I've been playing around with Google Earth the last few weeks and have been having fun finding various places around the world. I am actually using it for teaching purposes but having some fun with it at the same time. I've managed to find my house, and also some places I've stayed in various countries. Of course, I also had to see if I could spot EDS  I hope it's the right place.....

I also looked up EDS when I was playing about on it. 
Only located the street though and not the building.
Checked out a few previous addresses I have lived at. My current location doesn't come out very clearly on the map though. |

The resolution does vary in places. I think Google sources their maps from satellites and also aerial images and there's probably more availability of larger cities.
I really like their "local search" function, which is the same as in Google Maps really. You can type in McDonald's or "hotel" and it will pop up all matches in the view you're looking at. I think this feature is only available in the USA and Canada (that's how I spotted EDS). |
