I'm sure there are lots of people out there with TONS of skincare stuff and I was thinking that maybe we can swap some samples or something? I know that different things work for different people so why not? There are some things I'd rather sample first and that samples are not available for. So???? Is there anyone that is interested?
I have:
Strivectin eye cream
Wilma Schumann Collagen 2000 (I really lie this)
Wilma Schumann O2 Blu (good too)
Skin medica TNS recovery complex
Sothy's eye cream
Sothy's liposome cream (has a special name but I forget what it is...)
Yonka serum
Skinceuticals vit C (20%)
Skinceuticals eye renewal
Skinceuticals line defence |

check out makeupalley.com for swapping. you can compare lists and search for products you want.
We tried a thread like this before but EDS management wasn't in favor of it so it got dropped. |

I don't think EDS has anything against this in principle (though I can't really speak for them), there's just no functionality to support this here and no process to deal with "deals" that go wrong. MUA is an established swap place that has functionality to list and search products as well as track good/bad swaps. |

I know that Lianne was excited about setting up something like this a couple months back, and I actually resurrected the topic the other day in another thread.
I thought that maybe we could list in our “signature” – along with our skin type/issues – if we are interested in swapping, and then we could each enter a list of the items we have available in the “Other Interests” field on our member profile page, and then if someone saw that so-and-so had an item they were interested in, that member could PM the other person to make arrangements. I know that this solution isn’t as neat and tidy as the setup over on MUA, but I think it could still work. At any rate, I have updated my signature line to indicate my willingness, and will be updating my member profile with a list of stuff that I have to swap or give away and I hope that others will follow suit....*hint, hint* |

Of course that is the best idea of all for our unwanted products, but the thing that keeps me from being able to donate my items to charity is the fact that the charities all stipulate that the products must be unused. I can see how that would be a concern for stuff like mascara or lip products because they’ve actually made contact with one’s “mucus” areas, but I don’t see why they wouldn’t accept a bottle of shampoo/conditioner or some styling goo that I only tried once and couldn’t possibly be contaminated because I dispense a bit of the product into my hand.
It really makes me sick when I think of the number of these type of products that I simply throw away after one use, because I know that someone out there would be absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to use the type of personal luxury items that I simply take for granted.... |

I think if you really only tried it once, no one would know...maybe I am bad. I totally agree with you. So many products I seriously use once, and if they aren't suitable for my friends they just get wasted. |

What about registering on make-up alley but then put your make-up alley name on your signature on EDS so then you can still swap with each other just refer to another site for swapping
You could still talk about what you wanted to swap or what you are looking for just refer to make-up alley |

I am a single mom and know a group of single moms (most who are in a worse off position than me) who would love skin care products even if they have been tried/used. I live in Canada but if you don't mind shipping them here I can forward them. You can PM me if it is something you are interested in. |
