Has anyone tried rubbing skin with Squalane oil to remove the flakes?
I've tried it and works like Cure. |
Hmmm...I'll have to try that! |
bethany, please, try it. I have SkinBiology's Squalane oil with retinol. I rubbed it and all those flakes were just balling off my skin. |
I just used Cure 2 days ago, so I will give it a shot later this week! |

I tried the SB squalane, and did get a little skin off. But the I followed up with the Cure and was floored at how much came off. I am thinking maybe the squalane softened it up first? I was peeling from RA, so there was definitely dead skin but I have never seen this much come off with Cure before! |

Yep...I even let it set for a while, then added a bit more and rubbed pretty aggressively. |

There's a price drop on amazon this morning. The ppali seller has Cure at $32 down from $39 and free shipping. Not sure how long this price will last though...last time it was just a day. |

The more I use this stuff, the more I love it. I did figure out that I am better off using it more frequently than more aggressively in one sitting (a few gentle sessions are less irritating than one longer session). I even use it on my eye lids (with eyes shut of course!).
I also found out that I need to wash my face well after using it to avoid little pimples (probably from the film forming agent).
But all in all it keeps my face exfoliated without any harsh scrubbing grains or burning acids. And it is the perfect thing to help get rid of flakies from the one day a week that I do use retin A. |

It's funny, I was just thinking the same thing. When I first used Cure I was rubbing for so long watching and waiting for dead skin to rub off. Now I use it 3-4 times a week, very quickly and as just part of my night routine. I'm on my third bottle, it's such just so incredibly gentle...it leaves my skin feeling and looking clear and bright every time. i love it |

Thanks everyone for this thread and the other one, since I live in japan it made perfect sense for me to try the Cure, so I went out and got it the other day and tried it today.
It was great except one strange thing - when I got to the area way on the sides of my face, mainly from around near the tops of the ears down to the bottom of my jawbone - the balls that I had been feeling all over my face which were 'rolling around' as a gently massaged, changed in that the balls around this area felt like they got 'stuck' in that they balled up but wouldn't move... It was wierd, I tried for quite awhile to soften and loosen them up but even in the shower with my microfibre cloth afterward most of them stayed where they were. I had to kinda 'scratch' or pull them off - and sometimes this stung just a little... Although I can't see anything I think I must have quite a lot of clear peach fuzz in those areas and I'm assuming the balls got stuck in the fuzz there! It kinda felt like I was pulling along something short but hair-like..
It was quite wierd and strange! I'm not a hairy person, indeed I'm battling a lot of head-hair thinning, and since I hadn't heard of this happening to anyone else I was surprised!
Hopefully this won't happen again (or if so, then a lot less since this was the first time I did this!)
Anyone had THAT experience?
Apart from that I love it - my skin has been feeling so smooth and soft and wonderful! I used some gentle cleanser and gentle microfibre wash cloth afterwards, after reading about the 'film', figured that would take anything like that away....
I also used it on my neck, chest, hands and legs (my legs tend to get pretty dry in winter!). Didn't see much balling on the other areas besides the neck, but everything feels nice and smooth now. |

Sunrise your post reminded me of a comment made on NCNproskin's website concerning her aqua gel product that is very similar to the Cure. This may answer your question.
Aqua Gel Exfoliator – Question Of The Day
Question: Nanci – Help! I am having trouble removing the Aqua Gel Exfoliator from my lower cheek and jawline. No problem with my neck or chest, but on these places on my face nothing will remove it – not toner, soap, rough facial sponges, nor even your nifty microfiber cleansing cloth….
Answer: This one really had me baffled until I found out that this client has peach fuzz on her lower cheek and jawline. That’s why the Aqua Gel Exfoliator is not coming off on those areas. The dead skin that the Aqua Gel has removed is sticking to the fine facial hair that she has. You know it’s time to de-fuzz when that happens! I suggested that she get a facial hair trimmer like the Finishing Touch Lumina Lighted Hair Remover. Easy to find and under $10.00. It will not make your hair grown in faster and/or thicker. AND you will be able to use the Aqua Gel Exfoliator without any issues at all.

Bingo, Toby!!!! Thanks for that!
I WILL try the Cure again a few times in case the balling gets less over time, but ultimately I'm probably more likely to just keep using acids on that area than start shaving. I personally believe that these invisible hairs actually help protect the skin and keep it sensitive. Plus it becomes yet another gadget to buy and use, lol! |
