Hello,
I just bought a bag on ebay. New with labels. I like the bag, but it smells like an ashtray.
I can’t imagine where did they keep it.
I placed it outside for 3 days hoping the smell will be gone - NOTHING.
Same terrible smell after 3 days outside.
What else can i do? Any suggestions?
I really like this bag |

Put it in a plastic tub with an airtight seal and place some charcoal in it to absorb the odor?
If it is indeed cigarette smoke smell, I would ask for a refund from the vendor - thats really unacceptable.
I love my mail carrier girl, but when she delivers my mail it all is marinated in cigarette smoke smell and I have to carry it straight out to the back porch to open it or it stinks up the house. |

I can usually smell smoke. I also had a mailman that would bring in our mail (at reception) and it would smell of smoke. He was a funny guy and quite the character.
I personally would not want to carry a purse that still smelled of smoke. I don't have any good suggestions; but I would think the smell should have disappeared.(Outside for three days and it still smells!)
You might want to consider asking for a refund. |

That's a good idea. I'll definitely try that.
I was trying to insert some aromatic cloths inside of it, while still keeping it outside, but i don't think it will work. |

Ok. Here is an update in case you ever need to get rid of unwanted smell.
Yesterday i stopped by nearest BedBathAndBeyond and found following products:
"Zero Odor” - odor eliminating spray - to spray my bag from outside
“Fresh Wave” - odor neutralizing perl pack sachets - to put inside of each packet.
The smell is GONE !
It took 2 application on the outside, but IT’S GONE!
Mission accomplished |
