When I began my acne regimen with a dermatologist, she suggested Cetaphil Cleanser. I don't wear makeup, and I wasn't wearing sunscreen yet when I was using it at the time. After rinsing it off, I could always feel a leftover film on my skin. It felt distinctly unpleasant. I used it for 3 weeks and it just wasn't a go. My mother doesn't wear anything but moisturizer and she's not impressed with Cetaphil's cleansing power, either. A lot of people do get success with Cetaphil, though. Since it's so cheap, it won't be a serious loss if you don't like it. You could always use it to clean your hands. :P

hi gals, my first time on this site and posting. i too, used cetaphil to cut down on the $$ (used to use la mer). i used it for about a year and while my face always felt clean and fresh, i noticed that after awhile, it lost a lot of its softness and moisture. so i switched to using chanel and am trying out skinceuticals (per my new facialist). my skin got back a lot of the glow and softness that i thought i didn't have any more due to getting older. so, use for short term if you absolutely have to but otherwise, if u can afford, stick to your other products.

I used the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser when I was a teenager (and early 20's) because I heard many good things about it. My overall impression was good at the time and I liked it. I had sensitive skin and it didn't cause any irritation.

However, once I started using makeup Rolling Eyes I had to find a new cleanser. It didn't seem like the Cetaphil was doing a good enough job getting rid of the makeup on my face. When I followed up the cleansing routine with a toner on a cotton pad, I always had lots of makeup residue on the pad. I am rather thorough with washing and rinsing and even after repeating this process twice, I still found small traces of makeup left behind. I thought it was an indication that the cleanser wasn't doing a good enough job 'cleansing' and I might end up with clogged pores from the residue left behind. I switched to the Sisley milk cleanser and never had this problem again. HTH

I should note that the original Cetaphil cleanser does NOT clean off make-up. The Cetaphil for normal to OILY skin is great at getting make-up off. I use it to clean my make-up brushes.

I have faced some skin problems for the last 2 years. It was pathetic. One of my friends suggested cetaphil face wash and I started using it for a few weeks. Really, it had good results. I see that as per medical benefits, it has the hydrating glycerin to improve the resilience of sensitive skin. Cetaphil face wash is available at the best offer price on cureka. Adding to this, it is Dermatologist approved. SO it's safe to use.

Hi Friends,
I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I'm a person with a very sensitive dry skin texture and I'm using Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for the past six months. It is giving me good relief from extreme dryness and skin irritations and am happy using it. Cleansers from some other good brands didn't work much on my skin. Loves this brand Razz
