Hello,
I've recently suffered the adverse effects of hard, chlorine-infused water on my skin and hair, and as a result of several gracious eds members, have been turned on to a product that I just rushed out to buy called vitashower. It is a replacement shower head that has a vitamin c filter inside it that neutralizes and softens the water... Here are the claims that the company makes:
***********************************
Woman's Bestseller
Shower head, 100% chlorine removal with vitamin C.
Chrome finish, stop button and dual shower – massage jet mode
Ideal intimate jet for perfect woman body care.
66,00 €
PRINCIPE :
The tap water arrives treated in the public water supply pipe work using chlorine.
At the exit of the tap, this chlorinated water gets very aggressive and irritating for the human skin and the hair.
VITADOUCHE (VITASHOWER) will neutralize the chlorine contained in the water by using an exclusive pharmaceutical grade vitamin C filter.
The crystals of ascorbic acid are little by little diluted into the water passing through the showerhead leading to the 100% elimination of the chlorines.
The water does not lose its mineral nor nutritive qualities, only the chlorines it carries are eliminated.
The water of your shower is no more aggressive nor irritating.
BENEFITS :
You are drinking about 2 to 3 litres of water per day, but by showering, your eyes, your skin and your hair are exposed to approximately 50 litres of chlorinated water per day!
VITADOUCHE (VITASHOWER) will provide you many benefits, the feeling and effects are as if you would take a shower using mineral water!
1. When washed with chlorine free water, the hair and the skin are revitalized.
2. Hair gets back shinier, softer and more brilliant, easier to brush and to disentangle.
3. Improves dry, irritated and itchy skin conditions.
4. Softens the skin and ageing effect is delayed.
5. Remove the taste of chlorine in the water.
6. Dyed hair colouring lasts longer and hair needs to be washed less often.
7. Enables a better and deeper cleaning of the skin.
8. Stops the unpleasant dry skin effect at the exit of the bath.
9. Reduces irritation and itching of the skins with dermatological problems.
10. Prevents and reduces chlorine-caused dandruff.
11. Ideal for baby care and for elderly people sensitive skin.
12. Provides a relaxing and wellbeing feeling.
13. Ideal also to fill or change the water of your aquarium (no more need to wait until chlorine is dissipated).
14. Essential to shower your pets (they will get a more flexible and shiny hair, pets often suffer from skin irritations related to chlorine).
**********************
Has anyone used vitashower? I'd be curious to know what everyone thinks of this concept. To my mind, I really love the idea of not only slathering vitamin c all over my face in the morning, but of bathing in it as well...
Since the company is based here in France, it seems like la vie en rose and I aren't the only ones concerned about the water here... There is a real market for this kind of thing!

I'm interested in hearing how this works for you, Avlange. I have really hard water too. We have a house filter, but we still get limestone deposits on everything. I've considered something like this before, but hadn't gotten around to researching it. Please give a follow-up!
Wonder what an intimate jet for woman body care is... ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

Well, it's translated from the French, which makes it even more ambiguous! I was not able to find the french version, however, even though it is a french website.
They are really trying to overmarket this thing!

We've been using Vitamin C shower filters for more than a year. My hubbie orders them from Sonaki.
Our unfiltered water is terrible and leaves hair and skin feeling coated and yucky. The Vit C filter fixes that problem. I doubt we are really getting bathed in Vit C, or that we are getting any absorbable Vit C at all, but I am sure that the water is being filtered adequately since my hair and skin feel clean after showering. I can really feel the difference if my hubbie forgets to change the filter.

Wow, this looks pretty cool! (Especially the ideal intimate jet for perfect woman body care. ) As we have very hard water, I'm going to look for this, as well.
Avalange, do you think they sell these at Castorama? |

my concern with this, though, is we have a very weird bath/shower combo typical in france. does one filter fit all spigots or what???
regardless, i saw the Vitashower bath tablets and am *definitely* getting those. i sometimes soak two times a day (because of my sore arm) and no bath products has really been able to relieve the itching. |

I'll let you guys know, but I think it is only a replaceable shower head, which leaves the bath spigot a veritable chlorine fountain. I take baths every night too, la vie, so I've already thought of the solution--to let the shower spigot fill the bath! It will take a while! Where did you find the bath tabs?

I would suggest the Monsia KLEEN filtered showerhead, it filters out chlorine, heavy metals, and other contaminants. |
