I heard from a friend that this is a safe natural alternative to tampons. It's supposed to be comfortable, economical and much healthier to the body and environment.
I'd like to hear your experience. |

My sister is going to try it (next cycle) and I'll post how she likes it. She has never had a baby but is 37 and married. The salesgirl recommended a certain size and she tried it and said it was very uncomfortable (too big) so she got the smaller size and is going to try it. I guess it's important to get the right size so there is no leakage. |

Hi Lily and Kiwigirl,
Thanks for the info and looking forward to hearing the results of your sis.
I know I can purchase one at the local health food store for $40CAD, I may have to give it a go.

I'd just like to add that I've been using the Mooncup for a few months now and LOVE IT!!!!!
I was scared to try it but can't imagine what I'd do without it now. Good luck!!! |

Hi Marmur1,
Glad to hear you've been successful with your mooncup. Just wondering if it's uncomfortable with the tip sticking out. Is it easy to insert or remove? What I really want to know is, is it messy?
Thanks for the reply

Hi Jewel lady,
It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's not too difficult to insert or remove. You'll get used to that very quickly.
You trim the stem so that it's not sticking out at all or else it will be uncomfortable and can cause leaks as it would move around. (I know, it sounds scary to trim off the stem but you just trim it enough to not be sticking out and you'll still be able to remove the cup.) I don't find that the Mooncups are messy, as I had experienced some problems with the Instead cups before with a lot of spilling over when removing them. Because the Mooncup has firmer walls, I haven't had any problems with keeping it upright when removing it and thus keeping it relatively friendly.
Definitely take a look at the thread Kiwigirl posted above...the Mooncup portion is at the end of the first page & thereafter. That's the thread that convinced me to purchase a Mooncup and I haven't regretted it since!
Let me know if you have any questions and good luck! |

Hi Marmur1,
Thanks for the specific details on the Mooncup. I've taken a look at the thread, as well as the website. It appears to be a similar product to the Divacup which is sold in Canada.
Thanks for the reassurance! I'll give it a try at my next cycle and let you know the outcome. |

I've tried Instead and it was indeed messy. Maybe I'll try a different kind because I love the concept. Good luck to all you ladies just trying this out - can't wait to hear the results! |
