EGF used to be extracted from human urine. It was not sold pure but as a relatively crude extract, a powder, and probably 1% of the proteins was EGF. Not bad, for a biological material. It was very expensive because you had to collect many many liters of urine to make a few milograms of a fraction enriched in EGF.
Thanks to advances in genetic engineering, it is possible now to get EGF at more affordable prices. You still need a sophisticated laboratory and many many hours of scientists time to make it.
Our growth factors are made through biotechnology in the same way the ReVive makes it. It is the only way that EGF and KGF are made in the modern era.

Growth factors such EGF and KGF have traditionally been extracted from the human pituitary gland but since the occurance of CJD science has had to search for other methods. Most human growth factors are now obtained by human sources which are supposedly virus free. Neocutis is obtained from human foetal tissue while TNS is obtained from foreskins.
EGF of plant origin is created by innoculating cauliflower florets with E.Coli. Once the E.Coli produces EGF/KGF during its growth phase the growth factors are harvested. Plants like mammalians are carbon based but their physiology is quite different. EGF/KGF obtained from plant sources is NOT going to be beneficial to human skin. So if you have purchased EGF or KGF give it to your indoor plants, they may sprout new growth but you will certainly not. |
