I just purchased this foundation and I'm blown away. I have seen lots of good reviews on MUA and I second everyone of them. The packaging is fantastic..it has a little slide that can cover the holes so it does not all end up in the cap when you travel. The coverage is fantastic and looks more natural than any mmu i've tried. It glides on covers and does not feel dry at all. I wear Fairly Light BE and NW20 MAC and the real sand is a perfect match. I'm a big laura mercier fan to start with but she has really out done herself with this one. Its worth a trip to the makeup counter to give this a try. |
I couldn't have said it better, Olivia! This MMU deserves more stars than there are in the universe!! This blows the Amazing Cosmetics MMU (which I've been using until now) WAY out of the water! They are on different levels all together. Gone are the days of carefully buffing and then following up with a goat hair brush to pick up excess....gone are the annoying MMU dispensers that I'm used to...Gone is the post-application spritzing and fussing...I swear you could buff this stuff on in the dark using a toothbrush and you'd get a great result! I couldn't believe that it looked as good in the evening as it did when I first put it on. I buffed it right under my soon-to-be 43 year old eyes and did not have any caking at all! I am amazed! Olivia you are bang on when you say that LM has outdone herself with this one! Run, don't walk to your nearest LM counter and give this stuff a whirl!
A totally ecstatic Pudoodles |

Actually, no they don't sell samples, but I've never met a SA would wouldn't decant a bit for you to try at home. Just remember to bring your own container-the usual excuse is they have no containers. |

I use Tender Rose and I am very light (it may be a tiny bit too dark for me, but close enough to blend right in).

I was looking at this in the store today, and it looks like it has more shine then BE. To those familiar with both, do you think that's true? |
BE is definitely more shiny. That was why I stopped using it (among other reasons). The shine is unnatural in normal light. |

Yogi, it doesn't have hardly any shine at all and it's nothing like BE's tin man look. I used my Aromaleigh finishing powder to get more glow, in fact, if that helps. |

There are a few on the MUA board who also felt this was too shiny.
Eagerly awaiting Skally's review since her skin is similar to mine... |

Hi Yogi
I'm familiar with both and feel that the BE MMU imparts far more shine than the LM MMU which just gives a gorgeous,semi-matte, natural finish. I still can't get over just how fantastic the LM MMU is!!

Well, I used my Jane Iredale Handi and it worked like a charm; however, I am always looking for lovely new brushes so would love to hear more. The Urban Decay sounds interesting! I will try it with my Trish McEvoy #5 and let you all know.
I'm off to Montréal today, Marina! I was in Chicago yesterday and got back after midnight - no wonder you can't keep track, I can't, either! |

Waffle, do you use LM's normal TM or the oil-free version? I'm thinking of getting it since I'm all LM-crazy right now. My main concern is that the normal version will break me out, but I heard the oil-free one has a tendency to turn orange on a few people. |
Not waffle, but here's my take:
Actually, they both kinda turn orange..especially for the colors sand & up. I tried it on my hand & it was a nice beige..I literally watched it turn orange The oil-free one is more orange to begin with..again for the darker colors. I could never wear the regular version, too greasy for me. It all depends on your skin, I'm oily & medium..I have a problem with colors turning orange on me anyway. The MMU in rich vanilla doesn't..there's enough of an olive cast to counteract this. |

The regular has never broken me out -- in fact, I had a 6 month span with NO breakouts while using it (don't know what broke that beautiful cycle). It has never turned orange on me, but I've never had my makeup change colors on me...maybe oilier skin does that? mine is on the drier side of combo.
I would say the main difference with the oil free version is that it seems more highly pigmented. It's less sheer and I don't think it blends as well. I'm pretty sure it's castor oil in the regular version, fyi. I don't find it greasy though, and in fact, I have to use an additional moisturizer with it. |

THe secret brightener is like a pen highlighter for under eye area, its kind of like a pink cream. And the SB powder is a powder to "set" the under eye area. You can read about it at the LM site. |
