I really like this sunscreen. MyChelle had a different formula before that contained chemicals.
Hasn't broken me out. Feels light on my skin. I don't really need a moistuizer underneath. I am prone to dehydration and and am pretty sensitive.
It contains Aloe, which is moisturizing and soothing.
Cost- $17.60
Size- 68ml / 2.3 fl oz
Vegetarian and cruelty free!
Active ingredients:
Zinc Oxide (ZinClear™) 11.6%: Zinc Oxide has been used for hundreds of years as a topical agent and a safe and non-irritant UV absorbing material. ZinClear is a refined, superior form of zinc oxide that protects the skin without leaving the skin looking ghostly white.
Titanium Dioxide 0.67%: Physical sunscreens like titanium dioxide offer complete UVA and UVB protection without the irritation potential and instability associated with certain chemical sunscreens, as well as acting as a thickener.
Inactive ingredients:
Aqua: Distilled water
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride: Emollient, has good spreading properties, promotes penetration and pigment dispersions. From coconut oil.
Coco-Caprylate/Caprate: A humectant and emollient from plants. It absorbs moisture from the air, and helps keep moisture in creams and other products.
Emulsifying Wax NF: Thickener and emulsifier
Glycerin: A humectant and emollient from plants. It absorbs moisture from the air, and helps keep moisture in creams and other products.
Dioctyl Ether: Emulsifier and emollient.
Squalane: Derived from olives, Squalane dissolves in the skin lipids, facilitating the permeation of the active ingredients; it also prevents the loss of water from the skin, improving skin appearance and its health.
Hexadecyl D-glucoside: Derived from coconut, it is an emollient and moisturizer.
Octadecyl D-glucoside: Derived from coconut, it is an emollient and moisturizer.
Cetyl Alcohol: Cetyl alcohol is a nonionic surfactant, a gentle humectant that promotes the retention of moisture in the skin, lather booster, emulsifier and thickener in creams and lotions.
Stearyl Alcohol: Emulsifier.
Xanthan Gum: AKA cornstarch gum. Serves as a texturizer, carrier agent, and gelling agent. Also stabilizes and thickens formulations.
D-alpha-tocopherol: D-alpha-tocopherol as Vitamin E is considered to be one of the more stable antioxidants, and it has been implied by scientists to protect the skin from environmental pollutants and sunlight through its antioxidant capacities.
Organic aloe extract: Hydrating, softening, healing emollient with anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Allantoin: Healing, soothing, and believed to aid in the healing of damaged skin by stimulating new tissue growth. Derived from the comfrey root.
D-beta-fructan: Escorts Vitamin C to the cells, promotes better quality collagen and elastin, supplies nitrogen to the skin, strengthens the skin’s immune cells, is an amino sugar that bolsters the skin’s ability to moisturize, strengthen and generally defend itself. From glucose molecules of the Date Palm.
Gluconolactone: aka Poly-hydroxy-acid, a much gentler formulation of synergistic hydroxyl acids to improve skin hydration.
Sodium Benzoate: A natural preservative. |

Thanks ginnielizz. Did you get your sample from this site? How big is the "Trial size" and what kind of package it comes with?
Just curious, how did you guys know about this brand? Is this brand wellknown (sorry not known by me yet ) Did you use anything else from this brand before? |
No problem, iamei - the sample pack is very tiny, with many bottles and containers only containing 2 or 3 uses worth of product. But for $10 for 75% of their entire line, I found it to be a good way to try out the whole selection - I wish more companies did such an affordable sampler pack! I'd kill for a cheap Hauschka or Jurlique version. Some of the products, the "trial size" ones, are really at least a week or two IMO, but the "sample size" are just a few days' worth.
It wasn't well-known to me - I happened upon this brand with just a few products at a small health food store in Oregon, and that's how I first found out about it. I think they only had the Cranberry Cleanser and some lip balm. But I've seen it more and more both on EDS and in stores, and the Whole Foods near my work carries a whole lot of their products (that's where I got the sampler). They're not big by any means, but I think it's growing in popularity.
The only things I'd used before were the Cranberry Cleanser and the Orange Guava Vanilla lip balm. Both were terrific - the cleanser is very exfoliating but not too drying, and the lip balm is deliciously scented and packaged in a giant tube, and has a totally transparent titanium dioxide SPF - I have no idea how they do that, it can't be a very high level of protection being as clear as it is! It's a very nice formulation though.
Though limited, my past experiences with these products were so popular that I was interested in exploring more of the brand. I'll definitely be purchasing their sunblock, I just haven't decided if I want to just get that at Whole Foods, or get some more products to save on shipping if I place an order directly from their website. I like the idea of buying directly from them, since I think they'd receive a larger profit that way, but I have no idea what their shipping policies are. I'll have to wait and see how many products I really LOVE and how many I only like.
Hope this helps, feel free to ask more questions if you want, I love going on about a great new brand! |
