That is how I have been using quench. Just as needed. Sometimes the skin around my nose gets a little flakey (from my allergies) and I use it there.
One way I love to use it is right before my hot yoga class. I usually wash my face right before class and I don't like to put anything on it, but sometimes my skin is a little tight. If I put regular moisturizer on, as soon as I start to sweat, I can feel a film on my skin. With the quench, it absorbs so completely that when I start to sweat there is no film at all.
