I take:
Multi
green Tea/resveratrol
ALA/aL-Carnitine
Idebenone
Fish oil
Amino acids (arg/orth etc.)
I eat:
Flax meal in cereal/stews soups etc (every day)
Berries
Green tea
Nuts and seeds (I use mostly nut flour when I bake).
lemon water
all dark green veggies and leafy things
lean meats and fish
olive oil and butter
cruciferous veggies
yogurt with NO added sugar
Typical dinners
1. sliced raw tuna on a bed of arugula topped
with fresh grated Parm, sea salt and pepper (or same with thin sliced rare steak)
2. Steak and oven roasted veggies
3. Morrocan layered chicken
Stewed spiced chicken layered with curried scrambled egges and grated toasted almonds with orange rind and cinnamon.
4. Slow cooker beef and pumpkin stew (with cinnamon, flax, fresh pumpkin, onions, black pepper and allspice).
I try to combine lean protein, fiber (use lots of inulin and flax meal) and good fats. I like to use cinnamon, turmeric, almonds, pepper, vinegar, onions, garlic and bitter greens which have great health benefits.
I eat none or very little of:
1. Simple carbs or sugar (I eat no white pasta)
2. the only bread I eat is high fiber (more like 5-6 gms of fiber per slice not the 1-2gm "fake" whole grain types).
3. No fruit juice except an occasional grapefruit juice (better to eat the whole fruit)
I know this diet works. 5 years ago I lost 40 pounds and my wrinkles basically vanished. It was what started me on skin care. People said I looked 10 years younger and this is all I did. By the way my blood lipids are ultra low (LDL 49, HDL 3 Need to get HDL up so I eat lots of good fats.
P.S. I was sort of propelled into this way of eating by a serious health incident and although it may seem hard to start for someone with similar lipid profiles to mine this is the best. I read MEDLINE many times a week to keep up on things to add and subtract from my diet.
I do drink red wine often. |
