I don't understand why you're all using expensive cleansing oils when you can just use any organic oil at a tenth of the price (although castor oil is good to add to the mix because it draws out impurities from the skin).
And yes, I just use a wash cloth and lots of warm water to remove the oil - although I do like to use a mild toner afterwards. |
I agree. I like jojoba oil. It has indefinite shelf life. And its composition is similar to human sebum. So it can help to dislodge clogs in pores. Castor oil can be a bit drying. Needs to be mixed with another oil, as you suggest. |

I love to use Jojoba Oil and Almond Oil, all of which you can get quite cheaply either from the health food store or even in some cases the local supermarket. I particularly love these to remove my makeup before cleansing and I save so much money using these or a blend I may make up. Buying makeup remover can be quite costly for some brands and I would rather pay a couple of $$$$ for these rather than shelling out $30 or $40 dollars on makeup remover and the oils tend to last so much longer.
I also find they make a great alternative to soaps etc for cleaning my makeup brushes. |

I agree and have posted recipes with essential oils for specific skin types in the recipe index. You can easily just use oil alone to cleanse the skin, and I do! My skin loves OCM and I won't give it up, or pay for overpriced oil cleansers! |
I'm off to check them out. I love making up my own oils etc for skin care as well as burning in my oil burner for when I have a headache etc as I find this to be very soothing and calming. |
