Hello girls,
I am really fed up with all the chemicals that are hidden in the stuff that I use I want to make my own products so I know where the ingredients come from, but I don't want to bug you guys constantly with my questions. So I've been looking around for books/guides about skincare and diy stuff, but I have no idea which ones to start with. Do you have any favourite books/articles/guides on basic skincare and DIY? |
This is my homepage, and where I spend many spare minutes reading, learning and researching;
http://www.cosmeticsandtoiletries.com/formulating/category/antiaging/56600997.html
This is a decent book;
http://www.amazon.com/Cosmetic-Formulation-Products-Science-Technology/dp/0849339685/ref=pd_bxgy_b_text_b
Even though it's a few years old now, I still would recommend this book as a very useful guide to anyone interested in skincare 101..

Other than this, I'd just recommend you start by researching a few different actives, that are specific for your unique skin needs.
Some of the DIY suppliers have a great deal of info regarding each active, where you can zero in on exactly what you need. Then you need only to do a bit of googling to check for compatibility issues for those actives you want to combine..
These DIY sites are nice, with lots of helpful info;
http://www.makingcosmetics.com/home.html (you'll find loads of DIY recipe's at this site!)
http://www.essentialwholesale.com/
http://www.theherbarie.com/
http://www.lotioncrafter.com/store/
Here you will find many studies, and also the ingredient listings for all high end skin care products; (Very valuable to the DIY copycat I tell ya.. )
http://www.treatment-skincare.com/Skinceuticals/Correctives/Firming-Cream/Ingredients.html
And now you know *most* of my secrets. Have fun! |

Please don't be afraid to post your quearies to other DIY members who will be glad to help you (or sell you their wares..lol) Still happy with LED, dermarolling and a DIY antioxidant regime. Peace & Hugs to all.♥ |
