Hi there...
From observation only, your description is extreme, and what I've seen with people that are perimeno are not this extreme.
HOWEVER, I have seen women go through INSANE hormone imbalance (which can often happen right after baby + stress etc), and then yes, I've seen it. I remember a girl I used to live near who had extreme allergies. I wish I knew all that was wrong with her. When she was about 16 her skin was ALWAYS dry and wrinkled like an 80 y/o. The weirdest thing.
In fact, in my line of biz I've seen women in their 30's look VERY old for their age. And it won't matter what cream OR exercise for that matter they do, they must balance their bodies before they get any better.
AND I've also noticed that it takes some SERIOUS work with a Doctor willing to go beyond conventional western med. to get things figured out. SOMETHING is going on internally. What tests have you taken???
Are you still having problems with insomnia? Have you had a sleep study done since the last one? Why are you waking? Sleep Apnea? Has this been corrected at all?
The sleep has to be worked out. How many hours are you getting?
(I went through 4.5 years of very poor sleep due to a non sleeping child... Just a bad combo if you want to look rested... it's virtually impossible)
I would challenge you to log your daily intake of foods and beverage to see exactly what you're taking in? Noting any supplementation separately.
A lot of people think they have a great diet..and then log it and see that they are missing some major food groups... Just talked with another woman on our forum. She really thought she was doing great, and her protein intake I don't think was enough to sustain a small child, let alone ANY activity she's taken on... It's a real eye opener!
What is your sun exposer? What was it like as a child?
What do you use on your skin now a days??? |

Insomnia,
I mentioned in the past that I was having similar insominia issues, and it turned out that my adrenal glands were burned out from stress, my thyroid was messed up, my vitamin D was extremely low, and lots of other crap.
I ended up having to go outside my insurance company and pay for a specialist out of my own pocket...that sucked, but was the best thing I have done for my health. He treats me over the phone (I have never met him in person), and he did partner with my PCP to get all my bloodwork done so at least I didn't have to pay for that.
If you want his name and number (and the visit costs), feel free to PM me. |

Please don't get discouraged. I am no doctor or anything similar but I have dealt with hormones due to hysterectomy at an early age and I'll tell you, it does get better with treatment.
After the hysterectomy my silly doctor did not put me on hormones or anything and I aged in two -three years like a decade, but then I smarted up and asked him to do exams and put me on hormones. I have been on and off them and when I am off for a period I look in the mirror and it tells me I need my hormones, I go back, this time I'm staying until 52 on hormones, my doctor told me with check ups and mammograms for breast cancer. I feel very good and I also am on B12 treatment.
I am 47 and can't complain, I think I feel and look at least, my age. You are very young, just be patient and take care of those hormones, look for other doctors' opinions, etc.
There is hope!!! |

Insomnia...
It can be so frustrating to deal with people that are totally clueless. It might be worth printing out some studies on the damaging effects of lack of sleep on the body. Unfortunately, your looks are NOT the only thing this is effecting. This is actually an area that I get flack about. I try to explain to people that sleep is HUGE in their appearance. But by the time it hits your appearance... you should probably be concerned about the rest of your body. As you're aware, your cotrisol is quite high, and this negatively impacts everything.
Is your daughter actually sleeping through the night. Are you having to get up to tend to her at all? (One of my twins kept me awake for 4.5 years. It was a nightmare.) And negatively impacted my weight, and my immune system. And you can see the sleep deprivation in my eyes.
I can honestly say, no matter how disenheartening your appearance is to you, You MUST figure out the sleep component. I have met plenty of people who have had something going wrong, and looked terrible, and when that something was fixed, their appearance was fixed with minimal effort. At your age this in not an unreasonable expectation. Just take good care of your skin in the mean time. Stay hydrated, eat a healthy diet. Supplement. etc...
I would put every single bit of energy and $$ into finding a solution to the insomnia.
I have a former co-worker who dealt with insomnia seemingly as severe. I'm going to try to track him down for advise! I'll share as soon as I hear anything!
Wishing you some solid ZZZzzzz's! |

Thank you Bethany. I agree about eliminating the stressors to cure adrenal fatigue. Unfortunately the stressor is insomnia.
Thats what raised my cortisol levels. |
I think it's very common to have a stressor that you can't fix right away... You still need to do anti stress things... basically allowing your body to cope with the stress better. So, although you're not eliminating THE stressor just yet, you're teaching your body to deal with it... And of course, eliminating other controlable stressors!!!!
So, for example... "Mom, I'm already quite stressed about not sleeping and how it effects me. It would be great if I didn't have to argue with you about how bad this is effecting me. It makes my stress worse, and therefore the impact on me is even worse..."
Things I like to destress, yoga, yin yoga, a good book, a funny movie. (I don't even watch certain kinds of movies anymore... no violence, no war (have been exposed to enough real war realities thank you very much!)no constant anger etc... It's imposed stress... use the off button!)
And I'd use CD meditations... I love this... takes your mind to a nice zoned area...
This lady is one of my favorites... and she has one for sleep... That you can DOWNLOAD for less than $10.00... Plug headphones into your computer, or load to your ipod...

I use her anti stress Versions... and I do get better sleep when I do... it's weird! But works!
Keep up your research. You are bound to find the right thing!!! |

I got an extra Qlink for my husband off eBay and paid around 50.00 for it. Make sure you get the new edition....I think it is more effective. |
