Aside from some slight irritation during the first couple of weeks, I haven't had any problems with Careprost. But, after 6 weeks of daily use now, I still do not see any more change to my lashes and am having serious doubts that the next 2-6 weeks will show any more results. But I'll continue to use up the bottle, nonetheless. I will probably go back to RapidLash if there is no change. |
I know doll, and that is the consensus of most users. I have super sensitive eyes and just won't risk it for me. |

I just noticed that I didn't update my pictures. I've added my 11.5-week pictures (one without mascara and one with mascara).
Start:
4.5 weeks:
8 weeks:
11.5 weeks:
11.5 weeks with mascara:
It's actually almost been 16 weeks in 1.5 weeks and post another updated picture then.
Stay tuned!! |

DarkMoon, that's one thing I haven't noticed with Careprost. But I guess that might be due to the fact they started out black. Many have said that their lashes got thicker from using it, and that was one thing I was also hoping for. It doesn't seem to me that they are any thicker though.
Oh well, I shouldn't look a gifthorse in the mouth, I guess. At least they're longer. |
I think it just boils down to everyone is unique, you may eventually get the darkening and more thickness! I will be crossing fingers for you! |

LOL. I am sure that is a typo on their part! We know it increases lash growth!
Good catch Claudia!!! |
Yep..that's what happens in unprofessional marketing BS...lots of typos! I would skip that as a reliable source. |
Very good point Bethany, but wouldn't that then knock out a very popular skincare product right now ! If memory serves, tons of wrong ingredients listed over and over on bottles, boxes and labels |

I agree with Loopy, I also think they are thicker, not nec each lash, but you definately have more lashes too me, not just longer. I think the longer these products are used, and the lash cycle happens, they do get thicker |

I just have a differing opinion about the active ingredient being exactly the same?
I did understand all offers of help are welcome on any thread? Then people can decide for themselves what they choose to do/buy. |

Oh, I don't disagree with that, but I think this thread is about Careprost, right?
I just shared some info about MY initial result with a different product and offered to take pics to see if they do perform differently and help Sandooch pick the product that is best for her...then it turned into some ingredient postapalooza for DM in order to negate my well-intentioned suggestion. (something I think you have mentioned disliking yourself on other threads)
Take away for me...why bother to make suggestions or provide pics if I have to deal with hassle. Not worth it for me. PASS. I'll just pm people instead of posting in the future. |
I seem to have offended you here, was NOT my intention at all. I know your in marketing and took your reply very seriously about marketing, products and how it reflects on the integrity of Companies. I do defer to you in that field, its one I do not work in or know anything of, so thank you for educating me.
This is about eyelash's and hers are looking great and I think actually fuller!! I think your offering to post pictures to show the comparison is grand! I for one love to see the differences in lashes with or without any of these products! I think we are all interested in longer, lusher lashes |

I more than agree on generics not "always" being the same. I too take "the real" name brand for certain issues due to that very fact!!
I can add, I've tried several of these various brands and find the all work about the same on me, only difference is one might take a bit longer than the other. I stopped due to discoloration on lids. But again name brand vs. generic can differ |

I agree that this is sometimes the case with brand names and generics (even with some differing generics), we see it with various brands of RA while the "active" ingredient is the same the base is in some cases different.
People all react uniquely to those differences, so what works great for one can be terrible to another! |

Bethany, I would love to see your results with Lumigan and hope you will post here for all to see so that they may make see which product may work best for them.
From what I've read about Careprost and people having success with noticing thicker/darker lashes, it seems to be the people who have light eyelashes notice the most thickening. Maybe it's because they get darker and look thicker. I'm not sure.
Anyway, it'll be a while until/if I switch from Careprost to any other product. Not only do I still have my first bottle after almost 4 months, but I have two more bottles to go through.
I am looking forward to taking my 16-week pictures and can't wait to post them to see what you all think.
Thanks for all the lovely compliments everyone! |

remember too with ANY of these products, to gain thicker lashes, it might take a few "lash cycles", our lashes fall out, regrow ect., to see thicker lashes, longer you will see first, thicker can take alot longer to achieve!!!!
eta: some get super lucky and hit the lash growth cycle at the perfect time, and wala, new lashes sprout out at same time other are growing! Hence some faster results, at least IMO. Its like using the nono, some takes weeks on end to hit the growth cycle, some just get super lucky |

Hi sandooch,
This explains the growth cycle of lashes and hair for that matter, on thing is to be aware of when you hit the phase where shedding happens as many find a massive drop of lashes all at once with the enhancers. It is best once you reach a goal to cut your usage back and just maintain!
Eyelash Growth
Much like any hair on the body, your eyelashes go through a growth cycle. This cycle is made up of three clear phases: anagen, catagen and telogen. The length of time that a single lash remains in one of these phases varies from person to person, but you can expect the hair to go through all three before it eventually falls out.

Yes, on the Careprost Facebook page they say that after 16 weeks you only have to use Careprost once a week to maintain results. I was thinking every other day. I'm a bit nervous to go all the way down to only one time each week.
Before I started with RapidLash, I swear that it seemed I would find 2-3 eyelashes on my cheeks most days. After using RL for a while, I hardly ever found any fallen lashes. Then when I switched to Careprost, some lashes started to fall out again. Made me a bit nervous, I must say. But they soon stopped falling out, and now I can honestly say that in the almost 16 weeks that I've been using Careprost I can only remember seeing 2-3 lashes either on my cheek or in my sink. Amazing! |

We must be on the same wave length right now. I was thinking of the hair growth cycle, and started a post yesterday, about how one's lashes would get thicker as one set of lashes stays longer and another set comes in. Then got interrupted, and lost it.
I wish I could show you a picture of the mom I met at a kindergarten tour a few years back. Her lashes were easily an inch long. And they were very clearly hers.
Crazy stuff. |

Cross posting as I think some misinformation about growing new hair follicles has been spread lately:
An average person has an estimated 5 million hair follicles on his or her body and about 100,000 to 150,000 hairs on the scalp. You are born with the largest number of hair follicles you will possess in your lifetime. No new follicles are formed after birth.
http://health.msn.com/health-topics/skin-and-hair/the-hairy-truth |
But some woman do report growing more than one hair out of folicle at lash line So I guess more can grow just not a folicle? Would that be right? |
I think that would be rare, what happens is those tiny little fine baby hairs that are barely noticeable are encouraged to grow long, thick and dark! |
awww ok! well that makes sense, is that why some people claim thicker hair on head too! Baby fine grows out not as fine? |
Yes, you can not create any new follicles it is just a basic biological fact!
You can do things to make hair thicker and also extend time between fall out!
Even just clogged follicles on the head if cleared of debris will help hair grow in thicker! |

Arg! I did a huge long post, with pictures, and it didn't post. I hate it when that happens.
Okay, gang, here is my last update with Careprost after 16 weeks of use, from no lashes at about a year and a half ago to a nice length today. All pictures are without mascara and no eyelash curler.
Before any lash enhancer:
After 12 weeks of RapidLash:
After 4.5 week with Careprost:
After 8 weeks with Careprost:
After 11.5 weeks with Careprost:
And today, after 16 weeks with Careprost:
And a quick comparison from no lashes to BAM!
Needless to say, I'm pretty darn happy with this product and will be starting maintenence (twice a week) today.
And for those of you who may remember my other thread wondering if my lashes could ever get as long as my teenage daughter's lashes using Careprost, I think I actually surpassed hers in length, just not fullness. What do you think?
