For the past few years, I've been on a mad tear to find something to tame my hair frizz. There is no deep conditioner available that will do anything about this - it has to do with the shape of the hair coming out of the folicles - not the condition of the hair itself.
Unfortunately, aging and hormone changes have robbed me of my once silky locks.
Thankfully, I still have thick hair, but I can't live my life as a fuzz ball or chain a flat iron to my leg.
I have tried any number of products and none of them worked - granted, I did not use the ones intended for the most challenging of hair types (such as the formulations for wirey or kinky hair types) but the ones I did try, left my hair smoothed only until the next shampoo.
Enter Rejuvenol 24 Hour Keratin that I purchased at Amazon - $40 for 2 ounces and I only needed 1 ounce for a treatment.
I followed the instructions exactly and now have silky smooth and shiny hair again - even after the first shampoo.
I will report back on how long it lasts....other users are reporting 6-8 weeks, but I think it depends on how often you shampoo and whether you use any sulfate based shampoos.

An update on this product - it worked well, but did not remain in my hair very long, maybe a month or so and I only shampoo about once every 5 days…so there you go.
This week I tried a stronger formula (which you must leave in for 3/4 days before washing - good for when you plan to be home for a few days) - Marcia Teixeira Original Keratin.
Wow! I love the results of this even more…basically it gives me back the hair I had before peri-meno - silky and smooth - no frizz, no coarseness. I can tell this formula was stronger because it normally takes me a long time to blow dry and flat iron… this time, after using using this product, I was able to blow dry my hair in only a fraction of the time and had no need whatsoever for a flat iron- just like the old days - yippee!
Next time I use this, I will wear a mask. The fumes were not too strong, but I did only use the styling tools (dryer and iron) with the door of my home wide open.
