Okay, thanks to Olivia's prompting ( ) I have ordered the face disk. As much as I love my Bobbi Brown, there are days that I would love to have a bunch of simple makeup in one place!
Will check back in when it arrives.
Marla
ETA -- I did not order the brushes, though. I have brushes coming out of my ears so I don't think I'll need them.
PS - Catski, I'm so sorry that I didn't your post before I ordered -- I would have been more than happy to help you out! |

You know what, I'd like to try one of these discs! Unfortunately HSN doesnt ship to the UK. If anyone is buyng from there and wants to buy 2 items to get free shipping... please buy one for me and I'll reimburse you via PayPal! I'm yellow - medium, I guess. The HSN prices are way better than ebay, as far as I can see. |
Darn! I just bought one from HSN and had I seen/known you wanted to get one, I would've bought one for you. Catski's very trustworthing so if anyone else can help her out, please do! |

Let me know how you like it! The brushes are not a necessity but the video kind of is....nothing top secret but it shows how you are meant to use the products.
I use my LM TM then the kit then dust the LM MMU over the top and then do the shading...sounds like a lot but its really quick. |

Olivia, can you clarify what you mean by the "kit"? Is that part of the disk or another product? Thanks! |

LH users:
Does this disk, or her system, include something to address/cover pores? As in: orange-peel pores overall or darkened or clogged pores on or around the nose? It sounds like her disk might be for women who already have good complexions and small clear pores but want to address other flaws or add color and mascara.
Also, is there some advantage to ordering from HSN rather than her website? |

Not sure about her website but if you buy from HSN you can return any product within 30 days and get a refund. |

Lauren Hutton's site also has a 30 day return policy. I just copied the below from her site:

Not Olivia, but I'm pretty sure she means the Face Disk items. |

I guess that's where I got confused because I thought the disk was mainly for shading. Maybe she does the concealer, etc. as the in between step and then after the MMU, the shading. That's how I'll do it. BTW, I tried out the two TM shades and I am definitely Sand! It does look lovely underneath my light dusting of LM MMU - really, really nice. |

scalawaggirl...good to hear you like the combo. I use sand in the summer and nude in the winter. It does give a nice finish.
By "kit" I mean the face disk. I use the disk for blush/concealer/shading/eyeliner...then do the MMU. Sorry to confuse...this is the order
LM TM
LH kit (conceal, line, brows etc)
LM MMU (dust on tzone)
LH kit for blush...
I would recomm ordering from the LH website...My HSN experience was bad...read past posts for the story. |

Olivia, thanks for the clarification. I already ordered from HSN, damn. Oh well, it's "supposed" to be here by 4/30 so we'll see. Ah, read back on the thread about the VHS/DVD problems but I'm not too worried about that. I watched a download of the video and understand the concepts already. I will be re-watching for clarification but I do have a video player, even so. |

You got it, girl! I'll document the process and maybe a little video once I get the hang of it! It's due to arrive next week. |

Agreed. I still love my Mac shadows and Nars blush, and only use the LH concealers when I do a "full face". But you know what this disc is perfect for? Airplanes!! It is such a drag now to put your bottles of liquid into the plastic baggie for security. Also, when I'm taking a holiday to somewhere far away, and it it gets close to landing, I always feel not so fresh!!! Plus I know I still have to wait for baggage, rent a car or take a taxi, talk to the hotel clerk, and I feel stinky and greasy. (It is psychological bummer to start your vacation that way.) It is too much of a bother to stand at that little sink and put on make-up and worry if people are waiting and it's so embarrasing and difficult to pull out all the stuff and put it on in at your seat. Just pack this little disc with a face towelette in your carry on and voila! |

A-HA!!
Back in January when everybody was having all of the DVD/VHS problems, we should have all pitched in for a kit for Skally and had HER do the tutorial instead of dealing with HSN's ridiculousness!!!
Next time we'll think more clearly.... |

You are so right! I wish I had it on a rotten flight to Montréal out of Philly - got stuck with nothing and this would've been perfect for a fix up without worry. I've vowed to never travel without a carry on again so I can keep an extra outfit and travel/beauty essentials with me because you never know...plus, I HATE carrying things and prefer the roller wheels to do all the work. |

Winnie...I can do that. I've been meaning ot do a podcast. I have some girlfriends that are "beauty challanged" so our dinners end up being me talking about all the cosmetics they should try and then I get an email the next day from all of them asking for the recommendations again...so I was joking when I said I would do a podcast for them...they are still bugging me to do it. Maybe this is a good opportunity.
Marla!!! Great idea! I would soooo have paid for that version over the LH one. Good thinking. Next time. |

Absolutely right! I used mine on my Denver Edinburgh flight in January. It was so nice to have everything needed in the one compact little case.

Got my face disk today! Actually, I wasn't expecting it until next week so that was a nice surprise. I also bought the brushes even though I have loads but I like the option of taking this with me when traveling for touch ups so I can leave most of my other ones at home from now on.
I did my face as a test and followed the card since I watched the video once already. They did send the VHS, BTW, but it's not a problem for me as I have the video on my computer, as well. The official verdict is that I LOVE it! Wow! This is exactly as Lauren points out during the demonstration - the shadow is light but does a fantastic job and the concealer is superb, I mean, really wonderful and sheer but covers (weird, I know). I did not test with foundation just to see the effect and it looked great; however, I am sure it will look just as good with a light dusting of my LM MMU. I am very impressed and now wondering, if she carries the blush in a little applicator along with the balm for touch ups without opening the disk... |

skalawagirl -- I hate to be a lazy slug (but I will) -- is the post for the online viewing of the tutorial on this thread?
I'm envious -- hoping mine arrives soon!
PS -- Been using the LM MMU and have to say that it's probably the nicest MMU I've ever used. I think I might actually keep this one around!
TIA |

I am really happy with my LM MMU and I've got lots just sitting around! I like the UGG finish and will, on occasion, dust some on top for a different look. Right now, I'm perusing the HSN site again for what else Lauren has since I am SO impressed with her makeup. This coming from a girl that has oodles. I see some more donations going to my daughter, who will be thrilled, I'm sure.
ETA: I got the Ultimate Trio on HSN and the Passport to Africa on LaurenHutton.com so I'm all set!
Now, to get to work on the before/after and a video! |

Hi alibabka,
I'm not sure about pore size specifically, but the disk has a combination of spot concealers for trouble areas in addition to a "sheer" concealer. Also, she gives several tips for putting makeup on the nose that I would imagine could help somewhat.
The HSN advantage is usually price. However,www.laurenhutton.com has the full range of products plus individual refills for any of the "pots" on the disk that you need.
HTH! |

Oh, alibabka, I forgot to add, you can of course just use your own foundation under the Lauren Hutton makeup, if you have something that you already like to hide pores! |

Are you referring to scally's soon to be released EDSY* award winning film or the rip of the LH DVD? If it is the latter, IM me for the download directions.
*An EDSY is something I just made up as our version of an Oscar or an Emmy. This year's nominees are Scalawaggirl and, er, Scalawaggirl. Scally, I am going to take your MMU tutorial and add the grand sweeping score it deserves. Or maybe something sexy. Oh hell, maybe I'll just write an orginal song, so I can win an EDSY too. |

The rip -- I got the info -- but thank you!
FYI to anybody who's interested, I ordered my disk from HSN on Friday and received it (via UPS) yesterday. Fairly quick delivery considering I'm in So Calif and they're on the East Coast. |
