Yes, I'm the one who dug up the thread - I put on a pair of sandals and just about passed out when I looked at my feet.
I have been using the Vichy callous cream most days for about two weeks, and I have definitely noticed an improvement. The results are not as dramatic as what people have described with Pedikur and the Diamancel (sp?) products, but my feet seem to have at least reached the level of "acceptable". I have also used a foot file once or twice during the last two weeks, just briefly to encourage progress. |

Yes, it is the Canadian Shopping Channel. www.tsc.ca I was so hooked on that site before I found EDS.
Yup, TSC lets you multi-pack the items and save on shipping if you buy items from the same catagory (i.e. beauty). |

What a deal! If I didn't have a couple of SDM ones still sitting in stock, I'd be on this right now. For anyone that hasn't used moisturizing booties, ya gotta try them out, they're great!! |

I use L'Occitane 100%Shea Butter as my foot cream at night and it works very well. It leaves my feet very soft, but not greasy the next morning. Also I've heard rubbing in Vaseline Petroleum Jelly before putting socks on works just as well, but I've never tried. |

I'm using the Vichy line for feet, it's the only Vichy products I'm still using. |

My hubby's masssage therapist makes gave him A DIY recipe for feet (and there is a reason!):
Olive oil mixed with beeswax
Castor Oil
Sage oil (if you need odor control)
Tea tree (for fungus-few drops)
Eucalyptus oil (few drops for soothing)
She didn't recommend the vaseline treatment I always use (and still do)!
The Swedish Clover red file is a miracle worker-I use it daily.
So I got my hubby the Badger Foot Balm which has all these ingrediants already in it (plus a few bonus ones)-with that cute little tin!! It works grrreat, you just go thru it fast. |

I put vaseline on them and then these socks that have a gel liner in them, so the sheets don't get all gross.
In the morning I take them off and Voila!
Perfection! |

Vichy product - Podexine Callus Corrector - so I decided to give it a try. It apparently contains salicylic acid and "anti-rubbing spheres to limit friction between the skin of the feet and shoes" (whatever those are, I'm suspicious). So, if I am dedicated enough to use it every day for a week, and if the results are impressive, I will let you know. |
Hi there, welcome to the board.
I use the Vichy Heel cream with Vit A. It's in the small tube but at under $13 the price is right and I got good results. |

i have pretty dry feet as well i started using Scholl products recently and i was amazed how good they are. at the moment im using cracked heel repair cream which is absolutely fantastic!!! you have to use it twice a day and once the skin is restored,it's advised to continue to use to maintain condition. foot and nail cream by school is really good too -it softens and hydrates dry and hard skin and protects from cracking. you should really try them |

I have heard a bunch of women rave about soaking their feet in the amber colored (original) Listerine.
They use a plastic container or two with a lid, use a couple of big bottles of the Listerine or Listerin knock-off (as long as it is the original amber colored version) and soak their feet in it nightly, change when it becomes cloudy.
Good luck!

From a girl who's tried every foot trick .. I found the BEST food cream ... I have very dry, hard cracked feet and so does my Mum. Its an Australian brand but I found it in Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada and its cheaper than in Oz or NZ! haha. Fexitol Heel Balm $12
Not all Shoppers have it and it barely stays on the shelf but within a few days my heels are healed and my feet are soft and I don't even need to wear socks to bed .. it soaks right in! |

Has anyone used Arbonne for feet? I saw a before/after picture of some soles using their RE9 Body Syrum & Lotion--just 2 weeks--quite astounding.
No need to go to Canada or Australia to find it! |

I just have foot soaked in warm water with rosemary essential oil 1-2 times a week. Olive oil + sugar scrubbing once a week or 2 weeks. Put on Aloe Vera jell every night before sleep, not greasy at all. |

I read that dry heels and feet can be a form of athlete's foot. I had this problem and used Lotramin anti-fungal cream(sp?)for a few weeks and I have not had the problem since. I would have never suspected. I even bought a Diamoncel buffer at one point but barely use it anymore. |

Thanks SO much for reminding me about that! I had heard that before but it must've just gone in one ear and out the other...
I'm going to see if I can make a foot moisturizing creme that contains some anti-fungal EOs to see if it takes care of the rest of my foot problems.
My faux Diamancel file takes care of the thick, nasty callouses on my heels but I still get these tiny little, itchy but dry, blister-like bumps on my heels above the "callous-line" and I couldn't understand why nothing I tried would get rid of them but it makes complete sense that they're a type of athletes foot...I bet a bit of tea tree oil would kill those little fungis right off!!
Thanks again for bringing that up |

Carekate, I had very thick calluses on my heels that looked horrible -- for years. The Lotrimin solved the problem. |

One more thing I read... they are developing antifungal creams for people with acne. They suggested using Lotrimin for acne as a substitute until the product comes out. I have a friend that suffers chronic sinus infections and she was prescribed an antifungal spray by a specialist and it really helped her. Must be good stuff! |

Your friend uses the anti-fungal spray to treat the sinus infections? How does she use it -- as a spray up her nose like one of those decongestant nasal sprays? I'm intrigued because my mom has a near-constant sinus infection for the last 20 years and nothing her doctors have done ever prevents or lessens the number of infections she suffers each year.
Please: tell me more!! |

Thanks, everyone, for all the great advice!
The callouses on the balls of my feet feel like leather right now, but you should have seen them before I had a go with the microplane and diamancel foot files. (On second thought, I'm sure you'd like to pass on that . . .)
No matter what I do, they come back quickly. All this callous removal is pretty labour intensive; I've been toying with the idea of asking Mr. Pinky to rig me up some kind of gizmo, based on a power drill or something, with a good old grinding "thing" on the end, to get the job done faster. Sadly, he's much too level-headed to actually humour me on this, probably because he's seen the dubious results (and obvious hazards) of some of my more creative ideas.
Anyway, now armed with a large tube of anti-fungal cream, I can treat my feet and hit my zits, too. Believe me, if this works for me, everyone in the known world will hear about it.

Actually, I remember FreeFall2 telling us that she'd give her foot callouses a good buff with the electric sander whenever she had it out to sand down the deck of the yacht that she minds, so that's not such a far-fetched idea afterall. Of course, with an electric sander, I'd be scared I'd apply for too long and it would remove ALL of the callouses which can be a whole different kind of problem if you like to run around barefoot -- especially during the summertime in TX when you can literally fry an egg on the sidewalk....
Question: after you've sanded your callouses down with the Diamancel/microplane, have you tried applying a foot creme containing BHAs every night to help prevent them from reforming? The BHAs would help to dissolve the "glue" that allows the new layer of callous to form. Hmmm, along those same lines, I wonder if anyone has tried to use an acid peel on their feet...? |

I just wrote to my friend asking her about the spray but she may be on vacation but I will post as soon as I hear. Has your mom tried a neti or is it netti pot? I hear they work wonders for people with sinus problems. Do a search on google and you can read about them. |
