Does anyone know if the vhs/dvd situation with HSN has been resolved? I tried to call but the number doesn't' work from Canada...
A family member will place an order for me but I would like to know I can receive the dvd since my vcr is on its deathbed and I don't plan to buy another one.
Also have not had success DLing the video from the link Pachouli provided.
Scalawaggirl, I tried to visit your videos on photobucket a few days ago and got a message they couldn't be found. I did cut and paste as you suggested. Did you removed them or has the link expired?
Thanks everyone!

Hey Montrealgal, I took a look at it on Interwood and the kit description includes the "Face Disc Instructional DVD (15min)". HTH!

Hi havana8,
I haven't been around on the forum much lately, but I am watching this thread -- don't know how I missed your message! Sorry for the delay in responding.
Thank you for the info and link! I had posted about Interwood in this thread before. I find them too pricey compared to HSN.
But I ended up receiving this as part of my birthday loot! I've not had a chance to sit down in front of the dvd and follow along yet -- looking forward to that. I've played with the disc a bit. Seem to be allergic to the eye liner/shadow. But love the blush!
I'm curious if anyone has found any stand-alone blush that comes close in terms of color?

This product seems to be a favorite of a lot of people. Since it has so many products in one disc, you might want to check the ingredients before you buy. I found a couple that contained compounds I can't use. Just a caution! Seems to be great for most. |

I just wanted to post that thanks to everyone's really fantastic reviews I purchased the Passport to the South Pacific (similar to the disk, but has a bronzer).
I wanted to tell you all how really wonderful this is and I'm completely impressed.
I did a before & after of myself on the long hair community forums, as well as a photo of my in BE MMU. Lauren Hutton's products win hands-down.
I have always had to have some sort of foundation on before I feel comfortable, but I only have her concealer and her products on and I feel that I look fantastic.
If I could post links and pictures I would, but I don't think I'm allowed yet.
If anyone's interested you're welcome to visit the long hair community (dot) com and do a search for Lauren Hutton Good Stuff and my thread with photos and review will pop up.
I highly recommend this to ANYONE (I'm 27) who wants to avoid looking so made up and just appear to be a natural beauty! |

I know this thread is as old as the hills, but I thought I'd bump it up, to see who liked it enough to still be using it.
I want to give it a try, but I'm not sure about a couple of things....Help!
1. Is it easy to learn how to apply it. (I hardly ever wear makeup, and I'm all thumbs.)
2. What color do you recommend for me? I'm fair to medium, with pinkish undertones, but lately notice a sallowness. I'm thinking the 'yellow' but what do you guys suggest?
3. Is there a video available anywhere on the web that's available to download? I'd love to see it, to make sure I'm not getting in over my head.
TIA
Kassy.. |

Kassy,
There are a number of videos of Lauren on QVC:
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Lauren+Hutton+face+disk&search_type=
I downloaded the video of Lauren showing how to use the facedisk that someone shared a while ago. I could send it to you if it's not too large and you PM and give me your email address.
I know Scali still uses and loves the LH disc. I think Winnie as well.
From the pictures you shared of yourself, I'd go with yellow. The only difference between the yellow and pink disk I think is one item (I think it's mentioned on this or one of the other long threads on the Lauren Hutton disc). |

Kassy, I agree that yellow would be best for you. I have been using this Disc for three years. I think you will love it. If I can locate me video I will PM you. Would be more then happy to send it to you. |

lunarmm, I saw most of the 'hsn' clips. I was really looking for the video, where she teaches the shading tricks. I need all the help I can get!!!!!
Winnie, I think your right about the 'yellow', and I will take that advice. Can you please tell me if the shading bit is easy to learn. I'm really all thumbs when it comes to applying makeup, and my hands shake to boot..
Thank you both for the help.

Kassy,
I never wore much makeup. When I got the kit I applied it while watching the video. Believe me it is very easy.
Here is a good overview:

I still have the video on my computer so I could send it but I also have the original info and link from Pachouli who uploaded the actual Lauren Hutton video instructions that come with the face disc:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0X3U2GXQ
Quote: |
It's on megaupload so you have to type in some code first and wait 60 secs.
I got it as small as I could but still be as watchable as the DVD. Still, it takes a few minutes to download.
You should be able to watch with any player like Windows MediaPlayer or RealPlayer. (One person did not have the latest updates of the codec for Mediaplayer, so she had to use Realplayer.) |

Kassy - I think the face disc is the best all-around makeup you could choose. I've had mine for five years with many replacements - mostly for the shading elements. And I thought I'd never use them!!!! The video is very explanatory about placement and use of the product.
I agree with everyone here that the yellow is the way to go for you - based on your pics. And As someone said there is only the difference of one item (what was it???? - the undereye color maybe?).
I've bought the three disc set also for my purse - this has undereye cream, contouring cream and the blush. Very nice - I love mine.
Good luck. I think you'll like it.

Thank you all very much for all the help. I will definitely be ordering the Face Disc in yellow..
I wasn't able to access the instruction DVD with Pachouli's link, but the U tube one Winnie suggessted was very helpful.
I can't wait to have a play with makeup like a big girl....
Many thanks!

After going to the page:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0X3U2GXQ
you need to put in the code.
Near the MEGADOWNLOAD arrow at the top of the page, it says please enter the code ______ (what they give you to put in the box), then click on the Download button.
You should be able to download and see the video then.
Hope that helps. |

I'm dense! I only see "MEGAUPLOAD", and when I copy the code where it says 'download' nothing happens.
I ordered the disc, so I'll just wait for the DVD to arrive.
Thanks so much for all your help!

Kassy, I can email the video to you if you PM me. I know you ordered the disc but you might want to watch the video before getting it. No pressure though - just an offer.
And I'll try to explain one more time, not just for you but for other people who might have difficulty as well. I tried it again after you had difficulty and it still works:
Go to http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0X3U2GXQ
Near the top of the page by the big capitalized MEGALOAD and arrow there is a blank white entry area. Type the code that is there. It says "Type code _________ here: ______ (white entry box) alongside this to the right is the yellow download button.
After typing the code into the blank white area - then click on the yellow download marker to the right of it.
Clicking on this after placing the code in the white "box" should take you to another page.
If it doesn't try it again. You're probably on the same page but the code has changed. So enter the new code.
It should take you to a page with a chart. The right column stating Free at the top. It lists the waiting time of 45 seconds. When you click on the grey FREE DOWNLOAD button, it starts counting down the seconds. Then you can open (and play) or save to disk. |

I tried to send the video via email to Kassy but it is large and even using WinZip it was taking forever so I gave up.
So, I'm sorry folks. I guess if you can't download it from the site I gave, I'm not much help to ya. |

You guys are the best, and thanks for trying so hard..
I managed to download from the link you provided, but it was sound only, the picture was blacked out..
I'll just wait for the kit, which should be here sometime next week I think.. I ordered the whole enchilada with brushes from HSN for $69.00. I'm a happy camper!
Thanks again to all for your help.

Winnie,
i just love her Disc. It's so convenient and so simple to use once somebody get used to it.
Some people may not be 100% too happy about the color choices of the concealers but she has different shades that are not on her website.
Basically if one orders the whole kit and kaboodle you get in the mail a booklet that it's kind of a catalog listing of all her products and there are more shade choices.
I have her disc and it's one of my favourite! |

I've never heard of the LH Face Disk until reading it here. (Actually, I guess you could say I was truly "enlightened" once I found this website - I've learned so many wonderful things on this forum.) Anyway, just wanted to know if this works for any type of skin tone or texture; in other words, should you have great, clear skin to use this? I have asian skin and am still working on skin texture issues (wrinkles, pores, discoloration). Do the application tips work for anyone?
Thank you for any advice! |
