Theresa-
There really isn't anything you said that I can disagree with. Perspective is key in anything in life, in my opinion. And that's something I've been working on tremendously, please believe that.
I do sit and stare at myself in the mirror daily, obsessively, and constantly. I pick out things about my face that, now that I think about it were probably always there, but I just never paid much attention until now. Turning 40 has MADE me become acutely aware of things where as before I never even gave a second thought. And all in all, my skin looks pretty good still. Possibly even better than 5-10 years ago (because I've been using Vit C and other PC products consistently for the past 4+ months). But still, I look at a magnified mirror, or in harsh lighting, and I see pores, blackheads, and just overall gross-ness to my skin. I am very hard on myself, and I am driving myself crazy. And you're right, my mom is worried about me. Especially since I've been through what I have..
Anyway, thank you for your words. I know you're right. It's hard to see things from a veil of self doubt and depressions, however I believe in the law of attraction too so I try my best to "feel good" as much as possible. Hoping that will reveal itself in my appearance.
I feel I've gotten off topic a bit. But maybe not so much? We all could learn from the benefits of "perspective". It's not like my life was so much better when I was younger; I was still freaking out about things it's just that aging wasn't one of them. I am grateful to be in good health.
Thanks again for your response! |
