Poptarts aren't very popular, they're not really much of a big deal.
If you like crisps then try lays chips!!! they're lovely and much better than walkers. My freind went to america and got me some.Hersheys good too and if you like an overload of sugar for breakfast then get some lucky charms (i think it is). My friends' obsessed with them! |

In my humble opinion the BEST cereal is Fruity Pebbles. Yummy!
I could never stomach adult cereal, but I guess I could get used to it if I needed more fibre. |

sorry for the belated reply, have been away. Tried peanut butter m and m s whilst in brisbane- only available over here in specialist sweet shops i think. They used to sell Reese's peanut butter cups in the supermarket when i was little but don't anymore- so everytime you eat one think of me, they're my favourite. Peanut butter and chocolate combined is the best thing in the world.
BTW, Mabsy, got the peanut butter m and m from some chocolate shop in the Myer centre in Brisbane city- think you mentioned you liked them, so you can get them now. Definitely worth it, except i think they were embedded in a chocolate bar and not floating by themselves in a packet. |

My boyfriend loves Goobers peanut butter and Jelly - did you know they charge about $7/8 for this at Selfridges
Oh and last time we were over, we would go to the supermarket in the morning and get 6 doughnuts for a dollar
I also got one of those potein bars for a snack and couldn't eat for 2 days!!!!
I am figuring Milani's luminous blusher and eye shadows, Prestige and Jane Iredale is cheaper over there with the dollar as is Bare Escentuals.
Raybands sunglasses!!!! I will be getting a pair of these, cheaper than in the UK.
My boyfriend was impressed with the tools (hammers and stuff) in Walmart, apparently they are a bit more advanced and cheaper than the UK.....don't fancy explaining those at customs
Oh and I got a baseball - I can't get these over here!!!! It's for the dog and at 90c bargain! |

Thought of another one today- had candy corn once as a kid and loved it- think a great aunt bought some from a dedicated lolly shop in sydney somewhere. Now, everytime I go into a chocolate shop I look for them- but they are nowhere. With all this build-up of at least 15 years they had better be as good as I remember when I finally locate some! |

hey carekate,
Nice to see a girl after my own heart. Yes we do have OPI here, and I have been a huge fan for a few years now. They are ridiculously expensive (start from about $20AU here - about $15.40US when you do the conversion on the exchange rate now....but that's not unusual). I have not, however, heard about the top coat in Australia, and I am sure I would have if it was here...so my interest is peaked!! I live in melbourne, and unlike some other states (hahm brisbane hahm ), we have the best shopping in Australia, and a healthy range of products.
Anyway, I am going to do a google search later to see if I can track it down
Oh, and I know we Australians whinge and complain about how nothing is here etc etc, but I really feel that we all want what we can't have.....(I do also live 15 mins from the biggest shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere..or so they say. ) |

BTW, for those Reese’s PB Cup addicts: they’ve now come out with Reeses White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, for those of us who are also addicted **cough*me*cough, cough** to white chocolate....They’ve also recently introduced a jumbo size PB Cup, although I haven’t seen them in the stores yet. |

Milani and Prestige cosmetics are around $3.50USD or less here in the States. They don't carry the Milani line at Walmart, but you can find them at Walgreens pharmacies (nationwide drugstore chain). |

Oh, they are definitely worth it!! You can buy them year-round here, but most of the time people only eat them around Halloween.
God, I guess I'll never take for granted Reeses, M&Ms and candy corn ever again.
BTW, has anyone ever had Reeses Pieces? They're like M&Ms, except the candy shell is filled with peanut butter instead of chocolate. For those of you old enough to remember the movie "E.T.," Reeses Pieces is they candy that Elliot got the little alien addicted to! |

Thanks Carekate
I was researching where in Vegas I could get hold of Jane Iredale and came up with Omni Chemists at the fashion show mall. Just wondering if there other Omni Chemists around the US, what's it like (ie tres expensive!!) and to you think I would be able to buy Jane Iredale samples and actually try the make-up before I purchase, like you can do at MAC for instance?
Reeses Peices....ET....any subliminals there do you think???? |

Honestly, I've never heard of it, so they're definitely not a nationwide chain. If they are affliated in any way with the Omni hotel chain, then you can be assured that they'll be super-pricey and probably extremely snooty, to boot! |

P.S. They also carry Milani and Prestige cosmetics at Ulta stores, so if you can find an Ulta location in Vegas, I highly recommend you stop by for a little retail therapy. In fact, you should probably do your shopping before you hit the casinos so you can make sure you’ve gotten all of your “necessities” purchased, just in case you lose your shirt at the roulette table!! |

Oh there is so much much I want to buy!!!! |

Have heard of Reese's pieces but never before knew what they were. Also, what is a junior mint? Love Seinfeld and remember that episode on there with those.
Giant peanut butter cup also exciting- hope they bring that over here. If I ever went to America, I would get so plump with all of this. Especially the candy corn...glad to hear it's worth it |

You should get lots and lots and lots of food and candy! Reese's peanut butter cups, Fruit roll-ups, Velveeta mac&cheese , American cheese (the BEST cheese). Eat at the Cheesecake Factory (chocolate pecan turtle). Make sure you eat a lot of krispy kreme doughnuts!!! I'm beginning to get hungry here.
And Victoria's Secret underwear. |

From what I remember was little lollies in the shape of corn kernels, with orange and yellow and white stripes. Getting obsessed with the idea of purchasing some- had a look on internet but not available within Australia, and not sure that I trust food posted from someone I don't know on ebay or similar. will never give up!!! |

Do you have those chocolate covered mints with a soft, creamy mint filling, like "York Peppermint Patty" or "Andes Thin Mints"? Junior mints are similar to those, but they're small, probably about the size of a peanut-M&M. They're pretty good, but it's easy to get burned out on them....

If you can trust me (I can send you a list of EDS "references"!), I can go candy-shopping for you.... |

** Edited to add further details about the world's best ice cream **
snooops wrote: |

You know what? I can't STAND Krispy Kreme donuts. They're just way too sweet -- they actually make my teeth hurt when I bite into them! We're lucky here in Austin, because we have the best donuts in the world, made at a little bakery about 20 miles north of the city. They're called "Round Rock Donuts" and they are to die for! We also have the best ice cream company in TX, called "Blue Bell." They put Breyers, Dreyers, Hagan Daaz, etc., all to shame. In fact, Blue Bell was the ice cream maker that "invented" the flavor "Cookies & Cream" (vanilla ice cream with crushed up Oreo cookies in it)! When I lived in Atlanta and Detroit, I'd get my Texas relatives to ship me containers of Blue Bell since they don't sell it outside the state. Blue Bell's actual slogan is "We eat all we can, then sell the rest...." And every season they come out with unique, new flavors. My current fave is "Dos Amigos" which is a combo of Mexican vanilla ice cream and chocolate ice cream with just a hint of cinnamon. I know it sounds odd, but it's just delicious! The problem with their "limited edition" flavors is that you can only get them for about three months and then they are gone for good unless the flavor proves to be so popular that they make it a permanent addition to their lineup. Another flavor the Blue Bell invented is "Birthday Cake:" vanilla ice cream with chunks of devil's food cake, rainbow sprinkles and swirls of chocolate syrup. My all-time fave Blue Bell flavor is Pistachio Almond, though. And my all-time fave limited edition flavor was the incomparable S'mores....God, I'm making myself hungry for ice cream -- I need to stop at the store on the way home and pick some up! |

I can't quite see myself getting sick or Junior Mints. I can't believe I forgot to stock up on these when I was in the US! I first saw them on Seinfeld and ended up trying them when one of the "boutique" chocolate shops in Brisbane had them in (at something like three times their RRP ). Yummy! I have to admit that Seinfeld also introduced me to Jujyfruits although I wasn't too crazy about those... |

Yes! Yes! can send you something Australian in return...do you fancy a kangaroo? Just joking, think you guys have everything already.
Krispy Kreme has only just arrived here- not too bad, but can't believe that people buy them in boxes rather than a single donut at a time. Also there is drive thru. |
