I have been using the EII and Chrysalyx for nearly 3 weeks now and even though its still early days, I dont think it's working for me.

The Chrysalyx is moisturising and doesnt break me out, but it kinda balls up when I apply my MMU, which is kinda weird as I wait at least 5-10 mins and only apply a thin layer. However, it doesnt really help with the blemishes that I picked...I know its bad Embarassed

As for the Epidermx II, maybe I need to use it for at least 2 months, cos it hasnt really banished my red acne marks nor does it help with my mild acne. The grains/crystals arent harsh at all, as sometimes it doesnt get rid of my flakies. I dont want to rub too hard either, as Im scared it will tear my skin, as montrealgal explained how some makeup brushes can cause micro-tears.
I feel that my aspirin mask/scrub or an electric toothbrush (which I used to use in the morning, but dont anymore cos Im using EII) works better than the EII.

I will continue to use the two products up, hoping to see some improvements with prolonged use...as I ordered 2 jars of EII!

Hi amami aya

Sorry its not working for you either.
I've used EII before but not everyday, so after reading the rave reviews here, I decided to give it another try. Im hoping it does work as I've only used it for just 18-19 days and I've learnt to be more patient with new products I use.

I too was scared that the Chrysalyx would clog my pores, so I just use it on the areas which I have my red marks..and so far, it hasnt clogged my pores.

Definately agree...even on the first use, the aspirin mask makes my skin brighter. But with the EII, I cant say that it has made my skin smoother.

I think we have the same skin problems-acne and red marks. Its a shame it hasnt worked for you. It is very frustrating!

I know some of you use EII twice a day but how many weeks did you use it before upping it to twice daily?
Not seeing any improvements (in fact, there seems to be a few more pimples), so I want to try using it more often.

Thanks very much!

I have been using the naturderm products for just over a month now. In the first week i had a couple of monster pimples come up on my cheeks where I don't usually get them. I put this down to purging and persevered. A week or so later my skin looked good, smoother and softer...except for my forehead. It was bumpy and clogged looking. After two weeks I stopped using the chrysalix as I wondered if this was the culprit. My forehead quickly settled down again.

I like the cleanser, but am not sure if I am wowed by it. I really like epidermx. I am just using once a day, but I think for my skin that is enough.

I had hoped this would help my acne, but I can;t say that it really has. I think I remember Liz saying that she thought the epidermx had improved the penetration of her taz. I guess I still need to find something that deals with my acne. I have read a lot about nanocyclic so have ordered that to try. If that does not work I am thinking retin a might be the way to go.
I will continue using the epidermx though as I appreciate having smoother skin, even if it is not yet pimple free.
Wish me luck..... Laughing

I used it every other day, then worked it up to every day and then twice a day. It was about 1-2 months before I made the leap. I definitely saw a difference with the twice a day usage.

I would say about two weeks into the twice per day usage, I saw a difference in the acne scars and smoothness of my skin. Yeah, the acne decreased too.

I went through a jar of this and didn't get much in terms of results. I only used once a day though. I feel like if I did 2x a day, I would run out of the stuff in a month. That's a lot of money.

I have a clarisonic but I am not really satisfied with it in terms of getting flakes off and cleaning out the pesky pores on my chin. I found that I have to use a washcloth to get those pores out even after using the Clarisonic. The Epidermx also didn't get these pores out.

Hi skim

In your opinion, what has been the best exfoliator you have tried so far?

Also, from your siggy, your acne is under control? What products did you use for this? Paula's choice? I remember you used the JM bioclear too, but you're not using it anymore.
Final question! ---how you finding the Alpha Hydrox souffle?

Thanks!

Yeahyeah,

Honestly, I still haven't found an exfoliator (manual) that really gets at my pores the way I would like. The only way to clear them out is to get a warm, damp washcloth and scrub them off like that. But I don't like doing that too often b/c I feel like it stretches my skin.
NONE of the acne products really worked to clear my skin. What did finally work is to scale back on the harsh products and pamper my skin. I continued using the BHAs and AHAs but I tried not to use them so much. Then I started using a very gentle cleanser (Paula's Choice Skin Balancing) and I slathered on the PC Hydrating Mask as a moisturizer every morning and night. I think that combo really did wonders for calming down the acne.

I also started taking zinc tablets around the same time.

I love the Alpha Hydrox! It's really been helping with my acne scars. It's pretty strong and kinda dries my skin so I've been dealing with flakes. However, it doesn't irritate my skin. I was using it once or twice a day so now I am moving to once every 1-2 days instead which helps with flakes.

Hi skim

Thanks for your reply. I've quit using BHA serums for now as I dont think they work for my skin, Im just using peels once or twice a week. But the Alpha Hydrox has so many positive reviews which make me wanna try it...but its kinda expensive to purchase over here (UK) and the shipping costs from US Ebay are the same as the product itself!
I think when I've found a place to buy it relatively cheap, I will give it a try!

Thanks very much!

Sad Sad Sad
Time for my Naturderm review.....It has been a week since I used EII twice a day and whilst I can see that my skin is smoother and softer, I dont believe it is because of the EII. I think that if I scrubbed my face with any exfoliant in both the am and pm, I will get this effect. Therefore, after using up my current EII jar, I wont be making a repurchase.

As with the Chrysalyx, its not gonna be a repurchase either. Whilst I only need a tiny bit to moisturise my whole face, its not helping with my acne and it balls up when I apply my MMU. But when I put too much Chrysalyx on before putting MMU, I have to wipe away the excess otherwise my face will look cakey. So I must use it only in the pm or when I'm at home (without makeup).

Too bad this line didnt work for me Sad

Hi yeahyeah,

Okay, I'm trying to get this whole balling-up thing that's happening to you. (Sorry this is happening to you BTW!) hmm I also use Chysalyx and MMU and I have nowhere near the effect that you are describing. Have you tried spritzing your face with either a hydrosol, toner or mineral water and then applying the Chrysalyx? Then let it all dry (approx 5 min+) then apply MMU?

I was thinking exactly the same thing! You should definitely try spritzing your face and applying Chrysalyx straight away. When I used it the very first time, I didn't spritz my face and it didn't seem to absorb into my skin...kinda just sitting on top of it. However, I learned that spritzing really helped and I had no problems with absorption and it worked just fine. I ended up using less product and definitely no balling up. Not even when I used my fingers to spread traditional cream foundation. Smile

Thanks for your recs! Very Happy

I dont get why it balls up either Rolling Eyes . I have been using Dr Mist along with the Chrysalyx but its still not working. But I've let the Dr Mist dry completely before applying the Chrysalyx, so maybe I need to apply it straight away Confused . I will def try that tomorrow morning and see if it still continues to ball up.

Hi Yeahyeah! Chrysalyx definitely needs to be applied to damp/wet skin. If you do that your skin will drink it right up, and you shouldn't have problems with balling. HTH!!

Reviving an old thread. Once again the stars aligned for me this month Smile I ran out of my PSF Papaya cleanser and JBAlphaDermaCE at the same time. I've tried samples of the Chyrsalix and NaturDermx but held off on buying the set until I could use it. It's too early to post anything but first impressions at this time: I'll update my impressions after longer term use. I am curious whether anyone else who used Alpha Derma can offer a comparison with NaturDerm products.

I was just thinking of reviving this thread again too. Smile

I really love the Chrysalyx! I'm on my second bottle, in fact. I've noticed that my red marks seem to heal and fade faster. I love how it provides my skin with moisture w/out clogging my pores. As moisturizing and hydrating as it's supposed to be I am surprised though that my skin still needs more hydration. Perhaps I am seeing how dehydrated my skin really is. In the AM I also apply Zenbiotic Sun Protector and Moisturizer (if I didn't my face would be way too dehydrated and thus very flakey). I'm not sure if I will reorder this (ZB Sun P & M) or not... I am going to give GoW's hydrating gel a try and see if it's enough. But then I've gotta figure out another sun protection option for my face. I like the Zenbiotic but it seems a little heavy for my face especially in the warmer months. I will also be giving Melissa hydrosol a try and perhaps I will ad some edelweiss extract to this since it has UV protection properties and see how this works.

The Naturdermx on the other hand I've been disappointed with- but only because of an ingredient it contains. I think grapeseed oil is comedogenic to my skin so it causes little white bumps that sometimes flare up. I noticed this with Zenbiotic's Moisture Enrich which also contains grapeseed oil. So I just have been using the Naturdermx around my eyes sparingly. It's a great product- I've actually noticed an improvement around my eyes where my skin isn't as susceptible to breaking out. Now I've gotta find a good anti-aging treatment for the rest of my face and neck that doesn't clog my pores.

i been using epidermix 2 for a while now. the days my skin i think is looking dull and i use this and it feels and looks less dull. Also when i feel a pimple coming on or after it has left a mark....i use this near the area, and im sure this helps in healing or getting rid of it or any marks quicker.

even though i had bought my one from goldport some time ago.........because i left my jar in the bathroom i think it caused it to go moldy perhaps as it had a blackish color to it inside after a couple of months.......i have to give points to excellent customer to naturederm.....not only they sent me another jar for free even though i have never shopped with them!, ALso asked me to send my off color jar back to them for testing so they could find out why or what caused it to go that way. She also refunded me for the shipping price that i had to pay to send my used jar to them. I just have to say wow. and she was really nice and friendly too

Hello, I've been looking for a face scrub and came across this thread. I was wondering if anyone can compare the Epidermx II product with Dr Brandt Microdermabrasion in a Jar, ZO Offects Exfoliating Polish, Philosophy The Greatest Love or La Mer Refining Facial? TIA!

I've tried 2 of the comparison products you mentioned, and Epidermx beats Philosophy and La Mer hands down. It makes my skin feel like silk.

I've used the Dr. Brandt and the ZO and I prefer the ZO, I think it's more gentle and effective.
