My reply from yesterday got lost in space! My new favorite is LAMB by Gwen Stefani. It's the only perfume I've ever smelled in a magazine ad that I said "THIS IS IT!!!!!" It doesn't have a "perfumey" smell (alcohol?) to me. The only down side is that it doesn't stay with you for the entire day, but I luv it anyway! |

I've just lately discovered "fragrance notes". There are some sites and forums where they talk about nothing but fragrances, and while I haven't joined in, I find it fascinating. For one thing, I looked at all the perfumes I've loved throughout my life, and guess what, the base notes were almost the same in all of them. Pretty cool, huh?
Seems I like sandalwood and patchouli essences a lot.
Ok, that's my first post. Just wanted to say I'm in awe of this site, and I hope to get involved. |

I've been lurking and learning on a site called Basenotes (actually, I tried to register but never got a reply) about fragrance notes and how they're layered, fascinating stuff, and it makes choosing and recognizing perfumes easier and more fun. I realized that of all the perfumes I've loved over the years, they had similar or shared basenotes, so when I go to a perfume counter, I can ask about the notes of a fragrance and know whether I'll want to try a perfume on my wrist.
Currently, I guess my favorite would be Calvin Klein Eternity, but it really depends on my mood, time of year, what I'm going to be doing, etc. |

Hello All,
I just recently joined this forum and so happy that there is a place like this that we can all come to with our opinions and ideas.
When I was in Paris several years ago my husband bought me Cashmir by Chopard which is still my fav. I always get compliments when I wear it. Not sure if this one has been mention yet.
I recently tried Glamorous by Ralph Lauren which I really love to. I have several others that I enjoy to but these two stand out in my mind.

It's awful! My husband is allergic to perfumes. He can tolerate Chanel No. 5. I do like Chanel. I sneak to a perfume store just to smell the samples. I fell in love with a man's cologne Blue Sugar. I also like Pink Sugar. Often when I try perfume on my skin it smells like gasoline or worse. Sigh! I can remember the good old days when I could douse myself without guilt. |

I've been very into fragrance lately. I havne't gotten a new one in over a year-- I've been pretty faithful to Philsophy Falling in Love and Givenchy Very Irrestible (the latter I don't wear very much because my fiance doesn't like it!).
So, I've just gotten two new ones. I bought a 1oz bottle of Burberry Brit EDT. I wish I would have gotten the EDP, because the EDT fades rather quickly. I love it, though-- the slightly nutty, sugary bottom notes are wonderful. (On a side not, I bought my fiance Burberry London for his bday, and I like it on my skin! I want to try layering it with the Brit.) AND, I just now, without smelling it, ordered Lavanila Grapefruit from HSN-- they had it with a body butter and four easy payments. How could I resist. I can't wait to smell it. Hopefully, I won't have to send it back.
PS. Has anyone tried the Lavanila fragrances? |

i recently fell in love with 'Loukhom' by Ava Luxe. i actually tried a sample because it's based on turkish delight and the most nostalgic trip i ever took was to istanbul with my ex (haha what a sorry excuse to buy a perfume right! ) and initially i wasn't too sure whether i like it but it seems to have grown on me! i love it when i catch a whiff in the late afternoon, it's all musky and sweet. this is my first 'gourmand' perfume...i feel all grown up now *pats self on back with know-it-all smirk*
i also purchased some other samples from Ava Luxe - other honourable mentions are frangipani and no. 23. will try some other samples after this lot is finished!! *giggles glefully* |
