I just returned from Walgreen's where I purchased 2 jars of the AHA face cream. I'm waiting on an order from bulkactives and will add more lactic acid to it when that arrives.

In the meantime, do any of you concoction guru's think I could add a couple of drops of my 70% glycolic acid mixing them together in my palm??

Or perhaps, add just a small amount of Tazorac gel (which is sooooo strong) again mixing them in my palm??

While at Walgreens I looked around for any other good deals and found their house brand of sunscreen for sensitive skin 70 SPF with Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. Don't want to hijack this thread so will post more about the SS on that thread.

I would love to up the AHA % to at least 12%, can you tell me how I could do so and where I can get the product to use.

Thanks, Lou

Thanks for the great tip!! At this price I will be using it on my hands to keep my skin in top form... hands can be an age give away once you hit your 50's if you're not diligent. I sometimes use Retin A under my hand cream, so I will now try using this AHA cream in addition without worrying about breaking the bank!!

I picked some of this cream up today (actually bought 2 jar - it's $4.99!!!!) and tried it on the backs of my hands as soon as I got home.

It's got a bite!!! I think I'm going to really like this.
Thanks so much for the heads up!

And too funny - it was hiding on the bottom shelf. Even though I knew what it looked like, it still took me a couple minutes to find it!!!

My hands and cuticles especially are very dry all the time (dry climate), and even though I love my shea butter, AHA really cleans up the cuticles and heals any little nicks or scrapes on the hands.

Do you use this in the am, pm, or both. What if you're a nightly Tretinoin user? Is it still ok to use?

I am using some anti-acne masks and peels currently, so I haven't tried using it on my face yet.
But, I plan to use it at night, and I would definitely alternate nights with a retinol product, and go slow (maybe only use it twice a week at first) to see if any irritation occurs.

Love the effect on my hands though! I still can't believe the price!

Please note that the description of this cream is "Net Wt 4 oz (113 g)". This is a weight measurement NOT volume. This should be taken into account when calculating the addition of any extra ingredients such as lactic acid.

Hi Azumma, on their website you can actually search for the stores near you and it will indicate if the cream is in stock at the various stores. It might save you some running around.

If I plan to use this only at night, do you think it will still be as effective? Also, should I use it after a toner and before moisturizer? And one more question (for now;)- can I use this under my eyes as well?

Thanks!!!

Not Azumma, but thank you for the suggestion. I was planning to stop at a Walgreens near my work tomorrow, but I will search on the web site first to see if the store has it in stock, so I won't have to waste time.

I couldn't wait to try this product! In San Francisco on business I'm from Australia, the first thing I did was went was to walgreens! I got lucky they had about 8 jars. I brought one to see how it goes, the lactic acids I was using had plateau and I'm not seeing much result. This is stronger and this price a bargin. I was using obagi but I think this will b use as good. I tried it already and the texture is lovely. Will seer how this goes and then I'll stock up when I'm here next week. U are so lucky here in the USA with all the variety and choices available. I'm always feel I'm in heaven when I can buy product reviews I've read on EDS.

Hi! I'm so jealous - I wish I went to Australia on business! I've used Jurlique, which is from down under, right? Why do we always want what's from somewhere else? Very Happy
Oh, and I do like the Walgreen's cream: I like a cream with a good 'bite'. I'm just using it on my hands for now until my last zit clears up and then I'm going to remove a couple layers of skin for sure!

I learned that while their website and interface is well-done, it doesn't always correlate to the actual store. I checked and it showed in stock at one near my home. I went there and nada. Zip. Zilch. Clerk seemed to have never heard of it, either. Also, the Sally Hansen product I wanted to get, which showed as in stock there, was not in the actual store. Just a data point about the reliability of their "in store" help on the website... Sad

Hmm....caboodle, thank you for posting this. I checked online and none of the stores near my house got this cream, but maybe I should call and check with them directly instead.

It's best to call ahead after checking online regardless as I figure it takes time to update the site. They will gladly order it in for you when you call and then hold it for you. Smile

I had to go to an appointment 1/2 hour south of where I live so I stopped in a Walgreens I don't usually go to, (I needed some supplies) anyway I found this on sale for 3.99 per jar and grabbed the last 3.
Ready to start testing it out in the morning, can't wait! Smile

I would certainly think so AHA's slough off dead skin cells like Retin A but this is much milder so unless your skin is super sensitive I think it could only help. Smile

SoCalGal,

Here is a link about AHA and acne. Smile
