Thanks for sharing. After reading this thread, I recalled that I have a sample from EDS when I ordered the YlangYlang oil. I tried it a few nights, and I like it so far.
A question: do you need to use the oil before the balm or just the balm alone after cleansing? |

The oil is to be used in the mornings. After cleaning your face, apply the oil (2-3drops on fingertips) is enough. The balm is for night (before going to bed). Again to be applied to a clean face. You do not need anything else after or before the balm.
you would need to layer the oil with any appropriate moisturiser. |

Nope...in my opinion that would be overdoing it to use both.
The balm is supposed to be used at night as Vidisha lala said.
I'd use the oil both at night and in the morning only if I didn't use the balm as well. |

so I mis-used them for quite a period of time. |

am sure, you didn't have instruction on how to use them. it can get confusing even when you have them!
because the products are natural (or profess to be), most probably, it has not harmed your skin. |

I have been using my essential balm for a week now and I am in love.
It is wonderful.
I have to stop myself from reapplying in the middle of the night .
I have just place a $200+ order on EDS for more Decleor. I have more products on my wish list !! |

I know this has beeswax in it, which tends to not agree with some people. Was it this product only that was breaking you out or your OP as well? |

Right now I'm in the process of elimination. I stopped all the products and now am adding them back one at a time, so I haven't got to the OP stuff yet. |

Does anyone use the essential balm at night as well as a topical acne product (i.e proactive, differin or tazarac?)
Also for those of you who have used both the essential and ylang ylang balms is one better for cystic acne than the other?
Thanks

I've been wondering the same thing! I use tazorac .1% cream, and what I've been doing the past few nights is:
-cleanse (remove makeup) (I vary my cleansers, d.o. sensitivity; i've been searching for the perfect cleaser forever)
-epidermxII (skip this if skin is really sensitive)
-a few dops of Aromessence Rose D'Orient oil (this is a new step for me, but I need a moisturizer after cleansing otherwise my whole skin will fall off and burn)
-wait ~30 mins
-tazorac
-wait ~15-20 mins
-Aromessence Rose D'Orient Balm/ or Baume Essentiel
so far, it's been ok... |

I was thinking of putting my acne meds on first so I am glad that it is working for you.

Hi CG,
I'm glad it helps. Let me know how it works out for you!

PS. are you going to use the essential or the ylang-ylang balm? |

I ordered the ylang ylang balm instead- because my main concern is keeping my cystic acne at bay. So hopefully the ylang ylang will be good for that!
I just saw that EDS shipped it out today- can't wait to get it! |

I have sensitive, acne prone, combo skin. Essential Oil from Decleor didn't do much to the acne. Instead, I make my face really oily and tend to break more. |

I've tried the ylang ylang oil from decleor, and it didn't break me out (I am really prone to breaking out). So I hope that the ylang ylang balm is going to be fine. I've read quite a few reviews on here and MUA, and there are only a handful of negative reviews, the majority seem to love this product.
I hope my EDS package is waiting for me when I get home! |
