Since I was very young (even 11), I have paid very close attention to my face because my aunt was always educating me about good skincare habits, nutrition, etc. So, I have a feeling, I began to notice changes early due to the fact that I was constantly examining my face. I would say that I noticed changes around 18, then again at 22, and now as I near 25. I notice the difference in my skin on my hands and neck as well as the lines around my eyes.
Currently, I'm working as a beauty advisor for Lancome (but I promise that I'm not one of the evil sales associates who are constantly pushing the wrong products on people---those types anger me as they make the rest of us (who are truly interested in helping people and educating people on skincare) look really bad. This is a different rant for a different day though-lol) so I am regularly touching the faces of a variety of people in a variety of age groups. Doing this has really caused me to notice a difference in the feeling of my cheek vs the cheek of a 16-7 year old girl. There is not the same level of plumpness. My skin isn't necessarily as smooth. However, the major differences in my skin has basically been my expression lines. I have always had a very expressive face, even as a little kid. Huge smiles have now left lines that won't necessarily go away after I finish smiling.
But I'm okay with that. I am proud of my expressive face as it has received many compliments when I perform---I do theatre and I sing! Teehee! |

Ouch, sorry to hear that Lou. Stress will do that to anyone as well as lack of sleep. Somehow the older one gets, the more things you feel like you have to do before bedtime. lol I used to go to bed by 9 pm but those days are long gone. Now it's more like 11 pm, and that's considered early! ![Embarassed](images/smiles/redface.gif) |

I think I really started feeling older in the last year - right around 49 - my boyfriend of 4 years and I split right before I turned 49 and it was terribly sad. didn't sleep, woke up crying - a zombie for over a year.
But on a bright note this is when I got on EDS and made the decision to really take care of myself - got into regular, religious supplementation, using SS regularly, awesome skincare help, bought the dpl and clarisonic and NuFace.... okay ...had a midlife crisis But I look better than I did before he left and I'm happy about that.
When I was in my 20's I looked so youthful - almost too youthful in that I didn't look womanly. I looked like a kid. Having children gave me a better figure and turning 30 brought on the best-looking decade of my life.
Here I am 50 and feel a bond with so many women here as we help each other and try to be the best we can be. One of the things I've noticed is that women like Flitcraft who have dealt with important issues - not just "oh I hate my new wrinkle" come through it with an outlook on the value of life and living and present a perspective that is (dare I say) even more valuable than a hot new skin care line. So, thanks to all of them. We are all going to age and better to do it with a vigorous, awesome attitude. Find your style for the decade you're in and revel in it. And to hell with my old boyfriend ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

see ageing on nearly every 20 something i see. i first really started noticing when i was 21 honestly and everyone thought i was 14. it maybe wasn't visible to others but it was to me. i remember looking at other college seniors and saw aging on nearly all of them. i remember a girl saying oh thank god i don't have any wrinkles yet but i remember seeing wrinkles on her. it all depends on your level of awareness. mine is so high i would say 99% have real signs of aging by their mid twenties but most seem not to look at themselves that closely so only notice when its really pronounced |

i am 28 and I just found I am getting old. My skin without wrinkle but with expression lines when smile. The skin seems less elastic, dryer and more sensitive than before. Now searching stable vitamin serum. The one I am using turn yellowish easily. Any suggestion??
I also start to learn about supplement. I just bought tons from web after getting other sisters suggestion here.
In a very worrying stage.... ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |

I noticed myself getting fine lines at 19 under my eyes after using retin a micro for a few months to treat acne and scarring. I think genetics were on my side in terms of aging because I never had any fine lines anywhere on my face up until using the retin a micro, not even that fine line that most people (even infants) have directly beneath the lower eyelid. |

I think for me it was mid-20s that I really started to notice fine lines and constant dark shades under my eyes actually needing correction. Also, at 27-28 I realized that i can no longer ignore gym because all the muscle tone which i took for granted before just disappeared somewhere. |

in my teens and 20s, I never bothered about ageing, I was more concerned about pimples.
only when I hit 30, I started to worry about wrinkles ,sagging cheeks, loss of collagen etc, and sadly, pimples as well!
so now I am more active in looking out for skincare products that helps to retard the ageing process , and hopefully, reverse some of the damage! unfortunately for me, i have sensitive and oily skin, and I still get outbreaks easily when products are too rich. ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |

I didn't start seeking out anti-aging skin care until my mid-40's. I probably could've used some earlier, tho.
It was in my early 40's that I was in the sun more (we got a boat and I took the kids out a lot in the summer). I paid the price of that when I started seeing upper lip lines a few yrs later.
I have such oily skin that doesn't like to tan (not even burn) on my face that I don't have the fine lines or bad texture some ppl have. Plus, I always used a retinoid (for acne).
Since I found out about copper peptides last year (and Botox), I think things are lookin' up!
I recently got CARDED at a Cubs game!!! I asked if they card everyone and the said 'No, only if you don't look older than 35". I turn 50 tomorrow!!
I think I found out about some good skin care products just in time! I really need to thank this forum for all the info I've gained. |

Oooo, foxe, I wish I'd get taken for under 35! Good for you! People usually guess me for 40 or so.
I never noticed any signs of aging on my face until a few years ago - tiny lines under my eyes. So I was 45/46. Doing my best with a few creams daily and sporadic Tazorac cream applications, but the Taz is too harsh for that area of my face; I can't use it often enough there for it to make a difference. It was originally prescribed for my acne/oily skin issues, along with Taz gel. When I go to the derm next week I'm going to ask her about Renova for under my eyes.
The other sign I've noticed that really bugs me is sagginess along my jawline. Not jowls, yet, anyway, but loss of firmness. That started about a year ago. It may also be from my recent weight gain of ten pounds over the past year, I don't know... Flexeffect is in my near future!
I'm so happy I found this forum; there's hope and help! |

49 years/50 yrs. old. It all fell apart at once! I do think lack of sleep and stress had much to do with my demise. I first noticed brown spot on my hand. Next on my face. I gained some weight and noticed a jowl. (Yes, just one!). A bag under one eye that is sometimes puffy when I don't sleep. Not too many wrinkles. Ah yes! the worst part...thinning hair!! I was under great stress so I'm trying to treat myself kindly and change my skincare routines to "aging skincare routines". I really need help but then that is another topic. |

I want people to learn from my mistakes...
I used to LOVE tanning so much when i was a teenager.
Thinking that being tan(as an asian) make me look more healthier and more good-looking.
So i went sun-tanning every week religiously.
Going on the hottest time of the day(10 - 4).
I used tanning oil with SPF 4 and even smeared it on my face(resulting in acne).
Now, i'm only 20 years old and i already have wrinkles underneath my eyes.
Everytime, i go under the sun, at the end of the day, more wrinkles become deeper.
Since then, i've stopped tanning and avoid the sun more often because i'm on Retin-A, and Retin-A makes ur skin more sensitive.
Little known facts...
People used to think that they go under the sun tanning their skin using either tanning oil or sunscreen. Well covered over their skin.
But often neglect little areas like under eye, eyes, scalp, ears and lips.
This way, u will have sunburn on ur ears, at the same time darken the colour of your lips and undereye. Scalp becomes more sensitive and oily.
Ur dark circles will be more prominent and almost impossible to get rid since it's 'tanned'
If u want faster results, add coke(Original) to your tanning oil. Results guaranteed..

I noticed about two years ago that suddenly I had all these freckles and spots in the sides of my face that I never had before. Growing up in the Caribbean, and having a mother who STILL doesn't believe in sunscreen, I had awful sunburns as a child even though I'm olive-skinned. Now I have sunspots and hard freckles that aren't going anywhere unless I laser them off. So far I don't have any wrinkles but I'm terrified to think about what's coming since I already have the sunspots showing and my 30th birthday is a stone throw away. I'm using retinoids, vitamin C, and wear sunscreen every day so hopefully I'll keep sun damage at bay, but the childhood damage is already there. |

For some reason I really didn't pay attention or even notice the signs of aging until my mid-40s, although they were certainly there long before then, as I am fair-skinned and have abused my skin in the sun and tanning beds.
I started noticing in my early 40s, when in a 25-month period we moved, and three close family members died following illnesses. At the end of that I took a good look at myself and I looked old.
I'm 47 now and have spent the last few years trying to undo much of the damage I have done to my skin (IPL, Erbium laser, upper bleph, Botox, Juvederm, Retin A/hydroquinone).
I have just found this forum and now realize I am a relative idiot when it comes to beauty and skincare. You ladies are wicked smart and really know your stuff and I am looking forward to learning!

If you find yourself still having to deal with some acne leftover from the teenage years, there are professional treatments that can help skin clear quickly. |

I noticed darker circles under my eyes some days around 38. Other than that, I find I like my appearance better with age. |
