I agree with the posters stating that Carole Maggio (Facercise) looks unnatural. I attributed it in part to the nose job that she did when she was young, and before starting facial exercises, and she tried to correct her face with exercises. At the same time I am not surprised that she got "extra help" with facelifts. Deb and LouLou look natural and absolutely beautiful, they are in different age categories, and both look fantastic!
Also those who do resistance training such as FE and ageless get significant results, and being able to defeat gravity in a big way. I do not see how Facercise can achieve the same results. I am not denying that there is some benefit to Facercise (I adopted an exercise or two from it), but compared to resistance programs it just can not deliver the same degree of the results. |

I can't image using the exercises on her basic video... alone... for facial muscle rejuvenation, although I really love her floor neck exercises for building the muscles of the neck..whether or not they actually help with sagging neck skin or not....and i love the energetic, intention thing she has going ..(which some people don't like at all)...of making circles, lines. etc in the air next to the muscle and visualizing/feeling/experiencing the burn...as an adjunct to Ageless, FE face buiding.
Also..she offers an advanced video on her site for $15..i think I'm going to get it..as i'm curious to see what she presents on it.
I've posted elsewhere that many years ago I met a woman that had worked with Carole and was now teaching facial exercises herself...she had had an extremely narrow lower face..and with Carole's help...in private sessions... had widened it significantly (in a feminine way). When I had posted before i couldn't remember whether or not she had shown me pHotos, but after i posted i did remember she had..and they were impressive.
I wonder if Carole does other kinds of exercises when she does one-on-ones.
Also the thing about energy/intention is that you really have to exercises that part of your 'psyche'..pour yourself into it/activate it..like you would the muscle itself in order for it to work...I know when i'm watching Carole's video and doing the exercises with her i 'feel the burn'...i think because her'intention. permeates the atmosphere..where AS when I do them without the video I can't yet, on my own, feel the intensity of the muscle working from the pure energetic intention of my body/mind connection the way i can when i watch the video. |

Lucyluc,
Do you know when Carole had her facelift..was it before she began developing/teaching her facial exercise program..or afterward..and if so.. how long afterward? |

I feel that when facialists like Carolle admit to having facelifts or enhancing surgery then they lose their credibility. She has been and still is promoting facial exercises but she cannot be the best role model when she has had a helping hand. In the book I have of her demonstrating her exercises you can see that she has wrinkling around her mouth but when I watched her on youtube recently her skin was so tight it looked very unnatural and not something achieved by facial exercises. The look a facelift gives.
For those of you who do the flex effect..are there any sample exercises? I want to do a programme but dont want one that involves pulling faces, and crinkling/wrinkling of the skin. |

Miss Pointy... If you can't wrap your mind around manipulating your tissues then I don't recommend our program. FE is quite aggressive. Although the terms pulling the face, wrinkling and crinkling don't ring true to the program. It is true that we will ask you to make an expression and use your hands to resist the muscle movement. That's how the muscle structures are strengthened. Otherwise the only strength the face develops are in the muscles used to express your daily moods... Which is how all those lines set in. One must work the muscles in the opposite direction as well.. It's all about balance. |

Exactly.. Lucyluc. Nothing too wrong with a few crinkles, but the sagging has to go! The most beautiful woman to me was Jessica Tandy. She was 80-something when she died of ovarian cancer. Her face was as wrinkled as they come but a beautiful shape. I remember four Oscars ago (I think) when one of the brat pack of younger male actors said, when Jessica walked into the room, the whole room lit up and not one of the younger women could hold a candle to her beauty. |

Most of the ones I know require the handling of ones face and there is a level of crinkling, wrinkling (if you want to call it that) and pulling of sorts involved. That's how you get the progress. You need to get over that mindset if you want to achieve the value of what facial exercise is all about.
I did see one exercise on youtube where the woman transferred air from cheek to cheek (like Louis Armstrong) and this supposedly helps build cheeks - no pulling involved. And Carol Maggio does a nose excercise also on youtube that doesn't have pulling. so maybe if you check around youtube. Don't know how effective they are though. |

I have been enthusiastically pulling, tugging, crinkling, and wrinkling for only 4 months now, and am cross-posting my results from the Ageless thread since pictures speak volumes.
Losing the old mindset was the best thing I ever did...I am eliminating sagging and my filler $$$ expenditures, and haven't gained a single wrinkle in the process. Take a very small RISK ladies, and you will reap some BIG rewards.

A new update...it's almost 3am and I REALLY need to get to bed, but wanted to post this update because one of my work partners that I have not seen for 6 months commented on my missing ML's today!!
I have been doing Ageless for a few days short of 4 months, and the change has been dramatic. (well, IMHO anyway) I did add the STOP a few weeks ago (6 treatments thus far), but based on the results I am NOT seeing on other sagging places on my face, it is clear to me that Ageless is the primary driver of these results.
Let me know what you think!
bethany wrote: |
I started Ageless on 11/8, but don't have any pics from immediately before I started. However, here is a comparison of pics from 11/27 and today, 1/25. This is my worst side, and losing 14 pounds has actually created some additional sagging, sigh. I have also done 3 STOP treatments, but I am seeing very minimal change from that at this point on my worst side.
I think STOP has helped some too, but not to the same degree as Ageless. Ageless can really remodel your face, while the STOP is like the cleaning crew that comes in after the remodel and tidies things up in a very subtle way.

And the latest shot from 2/5:

Bethany has had great results in a very short time. ....And that's just showing one area of change. I've seen nothing BUT positive results from facial exercise in lots of people. It's the one thing above all I am counting on to keep my face off the floor.
We've all been told to be afraid of pulling our face and this mindset is supported by the industry "professionals". Most of whom are also supporting their wallets.
Agree with Beth - Take a Small Risk and achieve BIG rewards... Fear = Sagging sorry - couldn't resist. |

This is VERY true...I have not been taking pics of my eyes, but the lift in that area was the first and fastest change I noticed. No more eyeliner rubbing off on my upper eyelid, no more sag under my eyes, and no more eye job planned!!
I was thinking about having an upper and lower bleph last fall, and my plastic surgeon had said I was definitely a candidate for both. Before I actually shelled out the $$$ I decided to try facial exercise...if it didn't work, then I would just go with the surgery. But every single thing my PS pointed out when he looked at my eyes is now GONE.
BTW, I have had 2 VISIA skin analysis tests done prior to starting Ageless...both confirmed that I have less wrinkles than 99% of women my age. I am going to have another done in March, and we'll see if I have gained any wrinkles from doing facial exercise or not. It sure doesn't look like it to me, but we'll see what the technology says!

LMAO! You are so right!!
Ladies, just pick a program and DO it...the payoff will blow your mind. |

Bethany, your progress is awesome! Your pictures say it all. I have the exact same problem that you had with the ML's. I started Ageless around Christmas time and am still waiting for results although some days I do think that my ML's and my sagging lids do look a little better. How long did it take before you first noticed a difference?. I do all the exercises every other day. Do you think that's enough? Anyway, you look great! |

Thanks, Doodles!
I saw the beginning of results in the ML area in about a month. But here is a little info I posted on the Ageless thread about how I actually do my exercises.
bethany wrote: |
Here are a few things I learned:
- I ensure that I work my muscles slowly and methodically, working the muscle to the max, pausing between each rep, and NOT rushing through it. (there is no need to rush since the program is so short anyway!)
- At the beginning, my hands were VERY weak, and hurt more than my facial muscles when exercising, so I stuck to rotating Day 1 and Day 2 and did each 2x a week.
- When my hands became stronger, I did Day 1 and Day 2 on the same day, and did them about 3x week....I did not start this until about the 3rd month.
- I do not do more than the recommended counts for each exercise.
- I make sure to take a day off after exercising as LouLou recommends to keep my muscles from looking overworked.
- I do try to massage or skin brush several times a week, though I should probably do it more often. |

Bethany your results are amazing! I, too, was wondering about fine lines with doing the program, but I guess fine lines would be a lot easier and cheaper to take care of than a whole big saggy face! |

Lucyluc, I used to have Botox in my crows. I haven't had any for about eight months. I don't think you can move the orbicularis oculi once the outer portion has been injected with Botox for crows. Both the Ageless eye exercises involve some scrunching and Botox is injected to prevent this. |

My concern would be fat loss. Its similar to thermage and there are TONS of lawsuits against the thermage co because so many women had the fat in their face melted, leaving dents which had to be corrected with fat grafting which runs into thousands of dollars.I have seen damaged faces from thermage. I would kinda be afraid to use stop. |

Lucy, that topic has been discussed repeatedly on the STOP thread, and the doctor in Isreal confirmed that it is not an issue.
Please feel to post on the STOP thread with any comments or questions. |

The tissue suggestion is PURE GENIUS...I just tried it for the first time with 1 square of toilet paper (perfectly sized!) in each hand, and it made a HUGE difference.
I was working my muscles hard before, but this took it to a whole new level! |

LOL I am not convinced by this, and its been around for centuries, but I can't see how just moving the jaw and engaging the voice could activate muscle fibres aside from the partial movement of engagement as there is no resistance there? Flyflyonly - can you explain what your basing this on?

I do like C Maggio's neck excercise, scooping thingy, really works. Guys what do you think about her nose exs (pumping)?? Will pumping exs have the same effect as Loulou's lip exs? They seem to work the same muscles. Or is the pumping for nose, and LL lip exercise is for lips only? Loulou what do you think? Any negative effects from pumping the nose? Have you seen those exs? You make piggy nose and make pumping motion using an upper lip. You can find them on youtube. I don't have a button nose and it is growing grrrr I also like her lip exs, my lips are so red and plumped afterward. I am doing and loving ageless, but I like adding a few more easy exs, I know you don't like Carol much here, I do not have her program and I don't think I am going to get it, I just like a couple of her exs (promoted on Fox), and don't want to do them if I am going to make the things worse. Thank you. |

I'm 'bumping' this thread....as a question about Carole Maggio's exercises came up in the Ageless thread..comparing her exercises to Loulou's(who created Ageless if you Dare.
I personally love Carole's neck exercises..although I've only been doing them ..sporatically..for the past week..and don't know whether or not they are effective at helping sagging skin on the neck....but they are very dynamic (the 'at home' version is done lying down)..and they have definitely strengthened the muscles my neck..which is important to me ..in and of itself.
i also have incorporated her scooping exercises into my routine as i feel they are potentially effective...
i don't do her nose exercises...so i can't speak about them....
but i really am revitalized by the 'energy' or 'chi' she engages as part of her routine.which many don't like at all..where she moves her hand away from the skin a bit and asks us to feel the burn..it took me a while to really engage myself enough to feel it..but i do now..and i feel it to be so reawakening..and i suspect..also regenerating..as imo..energy flow is as real as the physical body..and both interact to create our health, well-being and beauty. |
