I'm blond and I've had my eyebrows waxed. I thought, to save some money, that I'd use a little of Sally Hansen facial hair remover to get rid of the fuzz-even though the box says not to use on eyebrows. It worked great but I'm worried that I might be taking a risk. What else could I do? I use retin a so I have to stop for a week before waxing. Any suggestions?

Perhaps the box said not use on eyebrows because it's a chemical and would be harmful if it got in your eyes? Plus, the skin around your eyes is more delicate than your upper lip, so it would be more prone to irritation. But if it worked, and you had no redness or irritation, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm a die-hard tweezer myself. I used to get my eyebrows waxed at a salon, but to save money I started tweezing and trimming them myself. I haven't had any mishaps... yet.

Thanks-but what about the fuzz? I'm so blond I can't seem to get all of the little hairs. Razz

The do make a eyebrow wax kit...the packaging is purple like a small tube of toothpaste. I microwave it for 20-30 secs. It works great!

To tell you the truth, I think the nair is fine, just keep it as far from the eyelids as you can. I use it on the peach fuzz between my brows and it works fine.

If you've never used Nair type products before be careful! I tried it on my upper lip once and left it on too long. When I wiped it off I either broke the skin, or wiped off some skin with the hair and ended up with a scab.

Thanks for the tip. I use retin a. Do I need to stop for a few days? And what's your favorite eyebrow stencil kit?
