YIKES--HIDEOUS BREAKOUT!!!
This is the first Orlane product to cause a reaction, and that really surprises me because I've tried quite a few of them. I don't know which particular ingredient it could be--there are so many with chemical-sounding names. All Greek to me. (Which, by the way, is the only thing I don't like about Orlane. I'm a person who won't eat anything she can't pronounce, and here I am putting stuff on my face that has ingredients with more than five syllables!!!)
This was no ordinary breakout, either. We're talking small lumps that quickly travel to the surface and leave dark red marks for three days. I can't remember that happening before, and my skin allergies go waaaaaaaay back!
So, to be fair to my beloved Orlane, I didn't toss the stuff and write a negative review right away. I know that skin misbehavior can be caused by other things, i.e. hormone fluctuation, food allergy, etc. So I gave it another chance. I quit using it for a few days, and my skin cleared up. Then I tried it again one morning, and by evening, a spot appeared on my cheek. The next day I woke up looking like I was recovering from Chicken Pox! (My test may not have been scientifically accurate, but it sure as heck was good enough for me!!!)
This miniature-sized treatment cream came free with my last Orlane order from EDS. There's another product with a similar sounding name and description--I don't know what the difference is. The one I used is the one that comes in a pot with a blue collar protruding from it's neck. (I'm tossing the contents and keeping the little pot for travel--it's so cute!):P
A little disclaimer might be appropriate here: This product may be great for other people. My skin is very sensitive/reactive, especially to any kind of chemical exfoliate i.e. alpha hydroxy acids. It's possible this product contained one. |
