First, make sure you drink plenty of fluids (as in water, not beer).
Second, try omega 3 supplements, fish oil or evening primrose oil.
My dry skin normalised after starting on vitamin C serums -coincidence? maybe, but I wouldn't do without now!
If it's flakey, exfoliate. Dead skin stops whatever moisturiser you are using reaching the skin. Don't go mad though!
Biological oils like emu oil and squalane are really good for moisture. Rub a couple of drops between your palms and press onto your face. You really don't want to use too much or you'll look like a greaseball! you may need to adjust the amount you use. Jojoba oil is good too.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Honestly a flannel will do! You could try an exfoliating wash with say 10% glycolic acid - ask on here for recommendations, or even a microdermabraision cloth (about $10 on ebay), apri face scrub or similar will do. Just go easy with it! |

mmmm, c serums can sometimes cause exfoliation. the ACV toner won't exfoliate, but maybe is also drying to the skin?
DHCC shouldn't be drying and may exfoliate (ground almonds) but perhaps not enough.
Cetaphil is a cleanser right? I seem to remember it's supposed to be very mild, but I don't think it's an exfoliant.
To be honest, you could try massaging your face with a flannel when you cleanse.
What do you use to moisturise with? |

The DHCC is slightly exfoliating and might be enough if you use it twice daily. I would recommend that you add a serum under your moisturiser (or get a richer moisturiser) or do regular moisturising masks.
I honestly think that the best moisturiser I have had so far was the Sothys Hydroptimale Gel and the Noctuelle night cream. These creams left my skin seriously plumped up. I don't think I need that much moisture but it was clear that they worked. See if you can get a sample if you're looking for a new moisturiser. |

Vitamin E is really good. You can get it as a cream.
And yes, whether you have oily skin, normal skin, or dry skin, you really should use a moisturizer! I have horribly oily skin and if I don't moisturize it, it gets even oilier, coincidentally. |
