Is there any products that work for dark circles and/or dark eyelids?

I am only 21, yet have darker circles than most middle-age people. In addition, I have really dark lids (with very fair skin).

My dermotologist said that it was not hyper-pigmentation just plain old heridity and possible lack of sleep.

Is there any hope?

I have slightly darker skin around the eyes as well, being hereditary; but it got worse when I wasn't getting atleast 9 hours of sleep. I look best over eight hours of sleep, and when I sleep under eight I look awful! The extra hour is such a difference.

You can use concealer, but in moderation. You don't need to smother it all over your face. Or, depending on the severity of the circles, just get a good foundation or powder. It'll do the trick.

Someone mentioned that Gelatin helps under-eye circles, just leaving it on for 15 - 20 minutes I think.

Or another remedy I heard of was to grind up a potatoe, put it in a cheesecloth or tissue, and hold it under your eye for 20 minutes. It has potassium (K) in it, and I think it helps with lightening them.

Just promise me that you won't go blowing gazillions of dollars on "remedies"!

Fresh air REALLY helps too. I find after a nice jog or walk, my skin looks amazing and my circles fade a little bit. I also keep my window open at night sometimes to circulate my room, giving me fresh air.

Then I look nice in the morning. Very Happy

Simple is good, don't let imperfections eat away at your life. Love who you are. Wink

PTR Power K Eye Rescue worked well for me. However, as I said in my other post, I think this depends on why you have the dark circles in the first place. If it's hereditary then you probably won't be able to get rid of them. It could also be due to allergies or sinus problems. In such cases you might be able to lighten them (maybe) but the allergies etc are working against you all the time so in the end you don't get anywhere. If you can then try to eliminate all different possible causes of it first (i.e. try to get more sleep and see if that helps as well Smile).

Sleep makes little to no difference unfortunately. Sad

I've been tempted to try PTR Power K due to all the rave reviews.. I just wish I knew what type of dark circles it works on.

PTR and the Eye Bright from Cellularskinrx work the same way- they improve the circulation in the area so the darkness goes away. Constant drainage or pooling there will make it look dark. If you are talking about circles caused by pigmentation issues that are genetic, then you might want to look at a gentle lightener - maybe something with kojic acid or licorice root extract in it.

And, as Mabsy, mentioned, if you have allergies, that's the first problem to solve before attacking the circles. Allergies can cause serious circles and puffiness...
