Hi,
are there any of you out there used and like Pure Luxe foundations?
I'm looking for a good mineral foundation... you guys can throw suggestions at me (i know the big brands like BE, GloMinerals, JL etc)
can you experienced MMu users tell me what i should expect from the brands you guys use?
i am attracted to pure luxe mainly because of their large selection of shimmers, setting powders and i heard the owner is very flexible with formulations! PLUS the price is way cheaper than that of BE and JL!!
and i'd like to achieve a dewy glowing effect, can i get that from MMU?
thanks
april! |

I use Pure Luxe and really like it.
I tried about 5 different mineral foundations before I found Pure Luxe (including Jane Iredale and Bare Escentuals).
Pure Luxe doesn't have a glow like BE (as it doesn't contain bismuth oxychloride) but there is a PL product called 'You Glow Girl' which gives you a dewy/glowy finish. I haven't tried it myself as I like a matte face. That's not to say that PL is completely matte. I still have to use a finishing powder after I apply my PL foundation as it does leave a bit of a shine on my face but that is probably down to my really oily skin.
I've found PL really easy to use as you don't have to do all the buffing that is required with the BE minerals. It covers really well and the selection of eye make-up and blush colours is amazing.
The samples are so cheap that you may as well order loads of them and see if there is anything in the PL range that takes your fancy.
I've just ordered a sample of the new powder eraser that has been introduced. Can't wait to see how it works. |

I use Pure Luxe foundation, a few of there eyeshadows, but my all time FAVORITE Pure Luxe products are their bronzers. SUNKISSED and BEACH BABE are To die for!! They give an awesome summer look that is so natural looking.
Anyway, since you asked about foundations, back to that. I use Suntan in the summer, and in the winter I mix Suntan with Buff. I started with samples, which are so affordable to find the right colors and combinations for me. The coverage is light, but I prefer that. A couple light layers looks much better than one thick caked on layer.
Anyway, try the Eyezcremes. They rock!! I have Vanilla and Elysium. Also love the eye color Romance.
Now I am tempted to order myself some more samples just for fun! I'm so easily tempted. (LOL)

thanx toe and lori!
i'll go check out all the foundations and pick out a couple that looks suiting for my skin tone...
yeah i thought their samples were so cheap and affordable...so i picked out alot of shadows and such last night and my cart is at $43 ALREADY!!! AND i haven't even picked out my foundations and finishing powder etc... i guess i went crazy since their small 5g pots of shadows are only $4.80... sighh...
whats the difference between the original eraser and the powder eraser? (except for the fact that one is silicone/cream base and the other is powder) which one works better to smooth out finelines, pores and help create a smooth "canvas"?
Lori,
what skin tone are you? their bronzers look so light and non-bronzey... (i don't know to to describe) you must be pretty fair...
thanks so much you guys...
i'll keep poking around their products... |

I'm not sure which one works better as I haven't tried the powder version yet.
The best place to get all your answers from is the Pure Luxe forum which is here. Lots of PL fans there talking about the PL products. The owner, Christina, also pops in from time to time to help answer any questions.
ETA: Just had a look at the PL forum and I see that you have already posted on there. |

Actually the bronzers look lighter on the computer than when I got them home. My skin tone is a light-medium. I even use the bronzers as eye shadows on days when I want a very nautral but summery glow to my look.
I just lovew the line and their sample sizes usually last me 2 months.
Have fun shopping!

Christine is really quick about the shipping. This lady is something else. Great products, great prices. She's a 1 person operation. She stated on her forum someone must have been talking her company up because she was getting bombarded with orders. I admitted to it as did 2 or 3 other ladies from different forums all admitting the same! I thought it was pretty funny.
Smart business practice offering small samples for a buck or so. They really go a long way, which IMHO really gives you the chance to see how much you like the product before buying the full size. |

When I first saw her website, I thought, "holy crap" these prices are so reasonable. You can see that she is very honest, and I wish her all of the luck in the world with her business,(not that she needs any) they don't make em like that anymore. Can't wait to get these samples, I already know Im going to love them There are so many colors to choose from, I must have sampled everything. And I showed her site to all my friends. I just hope prices don't go up. But reading about the company, I seriously doubt that happening. Very excited!! |
