I have tried a few different ones myself but I have not found one yet which really works. I have come to the conclusion that those whitening cremes don't work. If anybody else has found one which has results I would be happy to hear about it too. |

The lightening products work differently depending on ingredients. The ones with tyronase (forgive spelling please) inhibitors work to lighten and prevent brown spots. Such as kojic acid and arbutin. They work but only if you are dilgent in using a high PPD sunscreen (blocking UVA rays). Wildberry serum is a good product for lightening/preventing brown spots. All products of this type take several months for noticeable effects. Note that I'm not including hydroquinine in this as I have no personal experience with it and I wouldn't try it as some people actually get hyperpigmentation from it.
Products to lighten PIH (post inflammatory pigmentation), aka red spots, are harder to find in my opinion. Retinol works over time, and mandelic acid is thought to be the only AHA that is effective on this type of hyperpigmentation.
All the products I mentioned here are available fromwww.dianayvonne.com (except for high PPD sunscreen). I am not affiliated with them in any way, by the way, I just shop there and participate in their forum. |
