Hi bergquis here
yes, please PM me, I am really passionate about this line "TRUE". Funny story, this morning while I was getting ready and putting on my make up, I was thinking about the posts I read and posted yesterday here on EDS (which is an awesome site). I was thinking, I remember the days when I really dreaded getting up and getting ready, putting on my makeup. It never felt good, I always seemed like such a chore. Covering up, blending..and never getting the same look everyday. I felt like I should go to work in a body shop. Bondo and match work. Now I actually enjoy putting on my make up because I feel so good and it is soooooo easy and looks great.
Sorry for the ranting. Love the stuff. |

Can someone point me to a site that lists the ingredients in this line?
I think I found the right website ... http://www.truecosmetics.com ... but there isn't a lot of actual information there ... just hype. Having been in the hype business at one time, I am suspicious whenever that's all I see.
I couldn't even find a listing of their products on that site ... so perhaps I'm not looking at the right one.
Thanks

Mary,
There's a complete product listing at truelynatural.com. The "featured" ingredients for each product are listed, but I'm sure that doesn't include all of them.
I've ordered several products from them, and they are extremely fast with their shipping and generous with samples.

Hope,
Concerning the products you've ordered from them. Would you mind commenting on them...as extensively as you can? Also, which products of theirs do you use? How do they compare with any other mineral brands that you've tried?
I'm also originally from Dallas. I heard you had beautiful weather yesterday! |

hisdrinkoffereing,
Keeping in mind that I've got dry, (ahem) mature skin, here's my thoughts on the True products I've used.
Restoring aromatic treatment oil - I love this! This may be my favorite skin product of all. I used to have all sorts of trouble keeping my skin from looking and feeling dehydrated during the day, but now I just apply a couple of drops of this and I'm set for the day. It sinks in quickly and doesn't feel oily or greasy at all. it just feels like "young" skin - very soft and supple.
Restoring deep cleanser - Oil forumula that rinses off easily. I really like this as well for taking off all makeup (including eye makeup) without irritation or stripping my skin. Doesn't leave an oily film behind or cause breakouts. Right now it's my favorite cleanser.
Youth revealing complex with idebenone - I've only used this for about 3 weeks, so I can't comment extensively on its long-term effects. But it is a nice texture, absorbs well, and feels very slightly moisturizing. It certainly doesn't dry out my skin, but it's not highly emollient either. It's a yellow color, but it sinks in and disappears quickly and you don't notice it. It does seem to have had a beneficial effect on the texture (less crepey-looking) and overall softness of my skin. After I finish the bottle, I'll probably stop using it for a while and see if I notice a difference before deciding whether it's worth the money.
Eye contour gel - I've only tried a sample of this and have used it only occasionally. It's a creamy-gel texture with a bit of a cooling effect that seems to perk up my eyes. It's often sold packaged along with the concealer and concealer brush, but I think I'd have a hard time putting concealer on immediately afterward. On me, it seems to "grip" the concealer so it doesn't glide on as smoothly.
Protective illuminating concealer - this is my concealer of choice at the moment, but I've never been able to stay too loyal to any one concealer. No matter how good the concealer is, I'm always thinking that there's a better one out there. It has 3 sections - a highlighter and 2 shades of concealer to mix and match. The highlighter is one of the best I've found because it does seem to add "light" but not sparkles. A slight touch of shimmer, but it looks like a "glow" rather than shiny/glittery. It does a good job of erasing the shadow if you have any sunken-in places under your eyes. Also lovely as a browbone highlighter. I also like the texture of the concealer, as it's not too thick or too thin. So, it covers decently, but doesn't "crack" over any wrinkles. I haven't found anything that completely covers all of my circles - this is one of the better ones, but it still doesn't do the whole trick (nothing probably will).
Mineral foundation powder - I've gotten samples of this in two different shades, so I haven't made a full-size purchase yet. Some days I like it more than I do others, but that's probably because of the way I applied it rather than the product itself. Also, I haven't been able to figure out which shade works best - some days it's one, some days the other, so that probably affects how I think it looks. It does give a very nice finish - both in look and feel. Very finely-milled, so it blends into your skin rather than sitting on top of it, and my skin just feels very smooth and velvety with it on. I don't really notice it on my skin, which I sometimes do with Jane Iredale. It also doesn't dry me out at all. It does seem to be a little bit harder for me to get the right coverage with it than with other brands. For me, it goes on in a lighter layer than other mineral powders, so I have to work with it a bit more. Overall, though, on the days when I get it right, it really does look awesome.
Another thing - I really like the scent of these products. To me they have a nice, aromatherapy smell without being overwhelmingly so, but I can see where some people would think they were too highly scented. It's something to consider if you don't like products with a distinctive smell.
Hope this is helpful and not too confusing. Let me know if you have any more questions.
How long did you live in Dallas? Yes, we're having very spring-like weather here, but without the spring-like rains (unforturnately). It's in the 70s and sunny again today. |

Bahamas? I'd much rather be there than in Dallas! How'd you luck out on that? |

Wow, talk about feedback! Thank you so much for all this information. Every bit of it is helpful. I will certainly consider this in my narrowing down in my search this week, and report back to all of your sweet and helpful ladies.
Concerning Dallas, I was born there...lived there until I married my husband whose grandparents migrated to the Bahamas from Scotland. My husband was born and raised here...a beautiful, tan as a native , island boy! We were away in the states for a few years, but returned here to manage the family business two years ago. I stay home and homeschool our two children, which I love to do! I must say, I do love our home here overlooking the beautiful ocean...and yes, we frequently have sand between our toes!
However, living here, I'm out of "the know" with make up. I used to host a television program while living in TN right before we moved back here, and my husband is still in to producion and media, sooooooo...I need to be ready to face the camera when I am called upon...now you understand the fervor behind my search.Even if not, conventional make up just isn't working for me anymore. This whole new world of minerals is giving me hope!!!
Hope to get to know you all a bit more too! |
