I am looking into Valmont Lip Repair. It says: "fights lip skin dryness, improves elasticity and regenerates lip skin. Effectively diminishes fines lines and wrinkles around the mouth."
I need it to do all of what it claims it does. For about four years I have very dry lips, especially at winter time. I used different lip balms, which I didn't care for. For two years, I am using La Mer lip balm. It is just O.K. and I am looking for something better.
In addition, today I noticed that my upper lip developed some wrinkles that I didn't see before, and I am terrified. For reference, I am in my mid forties.
Please, please share your experience. Also, please tell me if you know any other products that would address my problems. |

I didn't use Valmont Lip Repair, but I use the Valmont Eye Mouth Cream. It didn't give my lips a good protection, because it is very light.
Have you try cocoa butter for your lips? |

You might want to think about trying the hyaluronic acid/collagen nutritional supplements that you take orally. While most of the members on EDS who are using these supplements do so because of their lip plumping ability, several members reported that it completely healed their severe and chronically dry lips:

Do any of you remember me asking everyone for recomendations about what to do about my severe dry lips? I was using chapstick (one without petroleum) about six times a day and they were still horribly dry. To make it worse, there were ridged at the edge of the lip, like if I had bitten my lip in my sleep or something.
The second day of taking the HA/Collagen supplement, those ridges are completely, totally gone! I have only used the chapstick about twice today and no ridges!
I can see what happened... the lip plumped up and smoothed out the ridges. I haven't measured, but I can feel the difference in fullness. |

I went out to a few walgreens and finally found one with 20mg HA. IT DOES WORK !!!! ...the best part is (my lips) are less dry so I don't need to keep re-applying my balm, thank god and all of you !! |
For the record, I love Skinceuticals Anti-Oxidant Lip Repair for the results that you listed above. Here’s a couple of links to product descriptions regarding it: http://www.skinstore.com/store/product.asp?catID=0&prodID=1508&affiliatecode=YahooSSPRO_SK014_SkinceuticalsAntioxidantLipRepair-0.3oz&link=SK014 and http://www.skinstore.com/store/product.asp?catID=0&prodID=1508&affiliatecode=YahooSSPRO_SK014_SkinceuticalsAntioxidantLipRepair-0.3oz&link=SK014 |

Carekate,
Thank you very much for your advice. I'll definitely buy hyaluronic acid/collagen nutritional supplements. It sounds that it does wonders for lip.
I think that I'll also buy Skinceuticals Anti-Oxidant Lip Repair.
I'll will report the results after I'll try them both. |

Hi Doba,
Just a little hint that helped me ...
I took one of my Hyaluronic Acid capsules ... and emptied the capsule into a small bowl. I then added 1 tablespoon of distilled water.
I mixed that up ... and let that sit for a bit.
Meanwhile in another small bowl I liquified some coconut oil [although you could probably use coco butter or shea nut butter ... just melt about 1 tsp of it until a liquid].
To the liquified oil I added the contents of one lecithin capsule and mixed it well.
I then added the oil mixture to the HA/Water solution and mixed really well. [I use one of those cocktail mixers that you can get at the dollar store]
I then poured this into a small jar ... and let it cool.
It's a GREAT lip balm ... the HA really hydrates your lips ... and the coconut oil [or whatever you use] adds a protective layer to help retain the hydration.
It's easy ... and very inexpensive.

Dont bother! I get better result using my jar of Metholatum before I go to sleep or during shower. I would slap it on before hitting the shower and I get more moisturizing action then Lip Repair. After my shower, I would use a toothbrush and gentlely remove any dead skin off my lips. With Lip Repair my lips just felt dryer. I have been using my metholatum method for many years and it seems to do okay by me but then again everyone is different.
Cheers |

I'm really liking the PSF lip plump--it's very moisturizing, tastes yummy, and makes your lips feel smooth as silk. I've used it for two night in a row and I see a marked difference in my lips. It doesn't sting at all, or cause any swelling...just nice smooth, moisturized lips. |
