I recently took a chance and purchased LM's Lip Kisses in Geranium from the LM website.
While the website describes Geranium as a pink fuschia, it's more of a lovely red. It has SPF 20 and feels more like a tinted lip balm rather than, say, something like Clinique's almost lipstick. I actually like the balm texture as it stays on much better and lightly stains your lips. You can adjust the color intensity to your liking, from a sheer wash to more intense (though it won't ever be as bright as a lipstick, if you want that type of color, buy lipstick!)
I never thought I could wear red, but this brightens up my face wonderfully and I absolutely love it!
It's better than Bare Escentuals lippies, because it is softer and much more emollient. Also about 3 bucks cheaper (though I think with BE you technically get more product, but still not worth the money IMHO over LM) Just a little will add a splash of color, so one tube, while small, will last awhile. For gals that don't like scents in their lip color, I'd avoid this. It's yummy smelling, like cookies, but I know that bothers some people.
Overall rating:
For performance, it is excellent. Very moisturizing and has great staying power for what is considered a sheer lipstick (my Black Honey was never this good).
Package Quality:
The tube is small, good for carrying every day. But at first glance I was disappointed for the amount of product I got for the $$, however, once I saw how little it took to moisturize and color my lips and how long it lasted, it wasn't a problem. People tend to complain about LM's packaging overall, but I've never seen a problem. The top snaps very tightly, which is good considering I've had many problems with loose tops in my bag and making a mess (not to mention drying out the lip color!).
Price:
I still consider it on the upper end of sheer lip colors, price-wise, but I'll never go back to BE or Clinique because I love this too much.
Would I buy this again? YES! |
